I was reading Psalm 119 earlier and thought it would be interesting to make 22 cards titled after the 22 letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.

Seeing as these are both letters and numbers in Hebrew, the abilities may be difficult to come up with. Also, each letter depicts something or an attribute, similar to Chinese or Japanese. I may lean toward these hidden implications when making the cards.

Aleph (attribute - Leader/strength)

Red Brigade Enhancement

Place in your territory. Once per turn, if all your heroes in play and set aside are Red Brigade and you have less than 8 cards in hand, you may draw cards until your hand reaches 8 then continue your turn. May be used Twice.

Territory Class

Psalm 119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Bet (attribute - Household)

White Brigade Enhancement

Set aside a musician for 2 turns. While that musician remains in play, He is protected from harm unless in battle and all white brigade heroes ignore all cards with temptation or sin in the title.

Psalm 119:9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Gimel (attribute - Exaltation)

Purple Brigade Enhancement

Reveal up to 3 random Face down cards from one opponent's artifact pile. Holder may discard any curses or artifacts depicting false Religious practices revealed. Opponent may discard an active artifact instead. Cannot be negated if used by King Josiah.

Psalm 119:21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.


Dalet (attribute - Pathway/to enter)

Green Brigade Enhancement

Set aside any good Prophet. While set aside, any cards that would be discarded from holders hand or draw pile by a special ability used by opponent, are placed on the bottom of draw pile instead.

Psalm 119:25  My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

I think it will be fun making these cards and seeing what you guys and gals think of them.

like the idea. have a couple issues, though:

aleph is absolutely broken. way way WAY too powerful.

for gimel, there is no such thing as an 'evil' artifact...artifacts have no alignment. probably about the closest you can come to an 'evil' artifact are idols, so maybe have it discard all curses and idols revealed?

Aleph = fixed now (added use it 2 times clause)

Magic Charms isn't an evil card? Fixed that too.

Aleph is still insanely OP'D.  Once max.

No, all artifacts (except covs and curses) are neutral.

I agree, after a good night's sleep, that I didn't word Aleph right. I have fixed it. It was intended to be used by a player with only Red Brigade heroes in deck. The fact that Red is the weakest good brigade makes the card more balanced (IMHO)

I think that aleph should be an artifact...and that it should be used once and that your opponent should be able to discard half of the number of cards that you draw from his hand to negate the artifact or something like that.
