Thank you Ron. And that reminds me! I forgot to post the most epic scenario ever that I happened to crawl out of first.

We are sitting, all four of us. Ron, myself and two others. Myself and Ron both know that both of us have 3 souls and sog and nj. There's no ls in play, when another player plays harvest time! So Ron plays Sog, and I choose to keep mine just in case. My turn is next, I play Love at First Sight before battle with Maharai+Jacob, making another player shuffle his hand. He draws two souls... and one of them is the NT ONLY! So now we're all nervous as crazy, I go in and try to rescue it and I get succesfully blocked. The next player goes in for the soul (Ron was opposite me), and now I'm forced to play sog to stop him from winning. Then the round went all the way around again and I was able to go in with a captain band and end the game. To say it was the most crazy game would be an understatement.

We had Bryon, Tim Maly, Rob Anderson, and 2-3 other judges all watching the game for slapjack. It was absolutely epic!  :D

EDIT: Janissary, I won the first 3 and then got a 2nd. It wasn't undefeated.

And come on guys, even though he only faced 11 players (which is extremely small at nationals) each one of them had uber talent and deck building skill. He sure wasn't playing wusses. :-*

Same with Type-2 Multi. T2-Multi consisted of Tyler Stevens, Eric Largent, Scott Stamp, Ron Sias, NW Josh (can't remember your last name), John Earley, and a few others whose names I can't remember. All of the games were pretty down to the wire.

*mumbles something about playing too fast and losing 1st place due to a Thorns LS...*

Multi had Gabe, Kevin Shride, Rob Anderson, two of Bryon's Nephews (Tim and Tucker), Ron, Roy (Reyzen), and a few others.

It was small but it was tough.

I can't bring myself to support teams until it has something to run against and until Rob would be willing to run a 4th day of Nats (or at least run a teams event post BD/multi on Sat, which I don't think he is willing to do)

I'd much prefer this to multi-player. I think the suggestion was to have team events REPLACE the constructed multiplayer events. After all, they had booster draft replace sealed multi and everyone thinks that was a great decision, myself included. I love booster draft, but it is the only multi-event I have any interest in. Too much diplomacy and ganging up in constructed multi. I'd love some sanctioned team events.

I still disagree that Teams should replace T1 MP.  T1 MP still seems to be popular, at least at my playgroup, and some people actually played it at nationals.  Maybe we should try pairing it against a less popular category and see how it does.  It sounds like a lot of people still enjoy T1 MP.  I don't think we shuld be so quick to kill off what seems to be a liked category.  Also if TEAMS is paired up with booster draft how do we know it won't share the "same" unpopularity as T1 MP?  Anything paired with Booster Draft seems to lose out in popularity.

This discussion of event popularity is actually off-topic of this thread.  How about having it in this thread instead?

Starting this year, I am going to be exclusively playing t-1 multi when paired with Booster. Why? The same ganging up occurs in Booster, so I might as well be able to control my deck.

Ganging up is just a part of most MP games. We're always going to have it. I don't see why Teams should replace either of the MP events.

Exactly, and if you're good enough it shouldn't matter who's "ganging up" on you. You should still be able to come out of the game a victor, or at least get second. I was very sneaky and waited till one person clearly had a lead and then I came from behind so I would not be a big threat/target at my table. This strategy worked the entire 08 season as i placed first at every table except one and at that table I placed 3rd i think as a result of two falling aways that were played on me. And one of them was played when I wasn't even in the lead.(I believe this happened because it couldn't be played on anyone else cept poor pitiful me)

Exactly. Part of MP is overcomming ganging. You have to plan and play around it.
