Martin Miller and I went 5-0 using these decks. They were originally built by Martin and Nathan Voight (who went undefeated at a state and regional tournament earlier this year), and Martin and I made some tweaks going into Nats this year. He might have a write-up for the five games (I certainly don't), but I know that we ended with a 20 soul differential, giving up only one soul per game on average. I was very lucky to have such a great partner, and it was great for both of us to win another category after winning different categories last year.

I'm still angered (well not really, but it fit the pattern) that we had a category at Nats with minimum rounds. We totally should have done the 6th round.

I agree with this. Martin and I had the category locked by the end of the fifth round, so a sixth round didn't really make a difference to me. However, a lot of players were banking on there being a sixth round, and there was a lot of excitement before the (cancelled) sixth round began.

There seemed to be a rush to get things done most of the time this year. Granted it's nationals and some quickness is needed to get through rounds but lunch breaks were too short at times. Canceling rounds and having too short of lunch breaks seemed to hurt fun and fellowship more than top cut did.

I can understand those sentiments but I would also ask everyone to understand some of the limitations the organizers had in terms of support. Bryon was unable to attend, Kevin was unable to attend and Rob was only able to get there later. That left a lot on the shoulders of Roy (logistics) and Chris (tournament play) and they did an outstanding job with the support of John, Tim and Jon who all graciously gave up the chance to play categories they could have played to assist with judging. Major kudos to those guys! :)
