Title: Changing up the draft order in Booster
Post by: The Guardian on January 17, 2013, 05:42:31 PM
I can't remember if it's part of the official rules of Booster, but has anyone changed the order of packs when drafting? (i.e. done something other than starting with the earliest set and going to the latest set?)

I usually start with Angel Wars, so the players know if they have any silver brigade heroes.

That is a really good idea!

FTR, it was Roy's idea, not mine. One of my first Booster Drafts was with Roy, Claude & Christian Fong, and Reggie Flores, and that was what they did, which made perfect sense to me.  ;D

Is there any place with the rules/details for booster draft format?

I've always been in favor of starting with the most recent pack and working your way down. It helps make early packs (especially Prophets) a little less useless, because you know what brigades you're completely focused on at that point.

I'm so glad this post was made... opening packs "in order" is just one of those things I've never stopped and thought about lol.

The next time I do a booster draft I may have to try a "reverse draft" or at least give some consideration to the order.
