Here are some basic templates for a card game I made whose graphic design I'm working on:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/35Green.png (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/35Green.png)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/35Purple.png (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/35Purple.png)
(bad links, see below for new link)
The important features of a card in gameplay terms are its point value (35 in both of these cases), their color/shape, and their cost (the currently empty box on the bottom that will usually have two icons and a number).
Any advice, comments, suggestions?

I Like.

I don't think you want to use the photobucket logo in your cards. I couldn't find the 35 anywhere.
-
Hm, Photobucket doesn't seem to think those images exist.

The cards were online for over a week, and right when I take them down, there's interest in them. :)

Awesome work. Looks nice to me.

p.s. is this a new card game that is come'n out?
-
It's a game design I've had for a while that I'm updating the graphics for and shipping out to publishers in hope that someone picks it up.
-
Nice graphics. Are there supposed to be only numbers, or will there be effects in the game?

They're robots. Of course it's only numbers. They need room on their hard drives for all the madd Kung Fu skillz.

Looks really cool!
I hope a publisher uses this idea, that'd be awesome. Good luck. :)

They don't have any effect. The main number is their awesomeness rating; the player whose robots have the highest combined awesomeness wins the Automaton Wiring Exposition and Symposium of Organized Mechanical Elements. A working title for the game is Awesome Bots.
The cost of playing a card is on the bottom of a card. You pay in other part cards you've already played. To play the 37 Green bot (cost "X 10 green"), you need to scrap (discard) 10 points' worth of green robot parts. To play the 24 Orange bot (cost "^ 16 orange") you need to upgrade 16 points' worth of orange robot parts; upgraded parts can't be used for further costs but still give you awesomeness at the end of the game.

what an ... awesome idea!

You down puns? I'm down with puns too.

Very kewl very kewl!! Just for kicks try making the "Cots" boxes shorter. The height of them kind of contrast. but I really like them otherwise :-)

One thing I've seen crop up frequently in critiques of design consideration is accounting for color-blindness. I like that the shape complements the color to assist with this. At first, I was concerned about the green-orange robot, but I see he is primarily green, and thus, primarily square, and the cost shows both square and octagon to demonstrate his green-ornageness even if the background does not.
The short version is, I like what you have here so far.
