I'm working on a minis game but I have no idea how to do combat. Mind throwing some ideas around?(The figures would have life like in heroscape as well as a stat card)

How about that in Combat you are trying to destroy the Opponent's health (or stats) and the character who reduces his Opponent's stats (or health) to 0 wins the battle.
That's just a thought.

Well, you're at least familiar with HeroScape, so you know of one combat system. Roll dice equal to attack, each with some chance of some success, roll dice equal to defense, each with some chance of some success, inflict the difference in damage. You compare your game with HeroScape; what will be different about your game? What do you want to keep the same? Are you having basic attack/defense style stats, or something more out of the ordinary? It's tough to just attach a mechanic to nothingness, otherwise you get uber-basic possibly-sarcastic responses like Mr. Man Lan's.

Here's a wild idea....
Have you ever heard of a game called Malifaux? It is a miniature war game, in which you build and paint your figures (like Warhammer). Their combat system uses cards from combat instead of dice. That idea sounds really cool.

That would be cool. If you are a good painter.

Well, it doesn't have to be a build-&-paint game. It could be a prepainted game.
