America's Got Talent

Anyone following it? So far it seems like all the best acts are singers, but some of the comedians are pretty good, and there are a few good variety acts. My favorite acts so far are Landau Eugene Murphy (who sounds like a Frank Sinatra clone), and Geechy Guy (who apparently has a Guinness record for the most one-liners in an hour at 676...he told more apparently, but they only counted ones where the audience laughed). Just wondering if anyone else is paying attention. Overall, I would say that the talent was better last season (the first time I started watching it) but this season is overall pretty entertaining.

...So this is what you've been doing instead of ROOT?  o_O

My only relation to this show:

American Got Talent S3 The Tauble's Family

One of the family members was one of my sister's classmates, so I was acquainted with a few of them.

Yeah, Landau was freaking amazing.

The robot / street dancer dude is pretty good as well, but he's got NOTHING on the robot boys from Denmark's Got Talent. Those two are by far the best act I've seen on any of these shows.

Well, I watch the show at work during my lunch break, but I can't download Hamachi or RTS on my work computer (which is probably a good thing). When I'm at home, I pretty much never watch TV or get on the computer, unless my wife isn't home.

Dude, the Taubles were on AGT?!? I still remember the chapels that they sang in. John was one of my students...... math, not music....  ;D

Yea, they got to the finals but I don't think they won.

Well, Geechy Guy was booted off, but Landau is still on (at least until tonight for sure, but I expect him to continue after another amazing performance last night). For anyone who's interested:

Initial Audition
Vegas Audition (sorry it's the best video I could find--you can still hear his great voice though).
Hollywood Performance

Seriously, who knew Sinatra would be reincarnated into a black guy with dreadlocks?

The Tauble Family came to our church for a Christmas performance and they were better singers then because they were a lot younger and most of the kids hadn't hit puberty yet.

Well, after the quarter finals.... My money is firmly on team iLuminate. Their act is so striking, slick, and all around amazing.... it would take something serious for them to lose.

Plus, in terms of having their own Vegas show, they are one of the few acts on the show I would pay to see.

That's what I thought about Fighting Gravity last year as well, and personally I liked FG them better than ILuminate (though the recent performance was really good).

I still think that the winner will be a singer, there are just so many good ones this year, and singers have a naturally better chance of winning the competition

I call shenanigans on singers being on this show. Go to American Idol.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

The Best Show ever. I can't wait for the finals today. I hope the shadow people or Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. win. IL is cool this year. I ht pop life, for some weird reason.

Silhouettes are good at what they do, but I personally don't find them to be entertaining. If I were in Vegas I wouldn't pay to see them for an hour-long show. With Landau and iLuminate, I would definitely pay to watch either of them multiple times. Poplyfe will be big, but after last night's show, they don't have a chance of winning.

Both Landau and iLuminate knocked it out of the park yesterday. I have no idea who will take it, though I suspect iLuminate will. I would be okay with either, but I'm still a bit partial to Landau.
