Would anyone here dare go with a defense with no enhancements and if so what cards would you use?

KoT
Emperor Claudius
Emperor Nero
Grim Reapers: Christian Martyr

These are a few that can be used.

No enhancements at all? I don't know...

Yeah. Enhancements are pretty lame. All the best parts of defense are characters.

Gomer. KoT, King Manasseh, Salome, Herodias, Herod the Great, Herod Phillip II, Uzzah, The Dreaming Pharaoh, and that Egyptian Magician that bands to an Egyptian would be the strongest zero-Enhancement defense.

You can drop Herodias, add Archelaus, Wandering Spirit, Spirit of Temptation, Potiphar, and SWS and call it awesome.

The lack of Goliath in this thread is saddening.

Forget it--somehow I missed Olijar's post.  He is stone cold correct.

I would probably add The Amalekite's Slave so I could get whatever character I needed at the time. Other than that, the most effective enhancment-less defenses are probably going to be paired with a Zebulun offense, so you can probably make it pretty big. My Zebulun deck used three EEs (Worse than the First, Torment, Land Dispute) and none that I expected to play in battle.

It's interesting, awesome, but a little scary that some of you can invent a new defense just by memory.

Anyways... Which of these stand alone Villains would be best to support a "standard" defense.

There is a lost soul, if put in a site, allows you to put an EC from hand (and a few other places) face down on that site and may add it to battle during a rescue attempt at that site. (Use a multi-color one)... you could have prince of the air + KoT to make a (roughly) 30/33 battle determined by the numbers...

10/11 + 10/12=30/33?

Uzzah, Nebushashban, KoT, SWS, Gomer, Wandering Spirit, Spirit of Temptation, Goliath. Lots of banding options to band to their characters and to make huge BTN battles with KoT. A King Mannaseh could be thrown in with Gates of Jerusalem and MAgic Charms as well. Nebbyshash and Uzzah can win battles without enhancements fairly easily, plus Nebbyshash can grab their exchanger and 2 liner so they can't exchange for yours...if you use Martyr to keep him alive. Goliath is just a boss all around, but isn't necessary.
