for type one anyone wanna try helping me out? i wanna make it compettive.
-
Prophets/Teal offense, Crimson defense. There you go.
-
Side battles IMO go well with deck d/c. Go with green/red and evil gold, and you can have Sword Against Sword, Visions, Sing and Praise, Joseph's Brothers' Scheme, and that one evil gold enh. that makes two EC's fight. You can also have Amasai the Raider, Hidden Treasures, Wickedness Removed, and then all the fun evil gold deck d/c stuff. (If you want to add in a bit of silver, you can have Gabriel and Angel of the Harvest for a little extra deck d/c as well.)
-
Sword against Sword is good Gold.
-
The card you are thinking of is "Troops discharged" Best card ever.

Ah yes, that's it. Good times with that one...

If you are going with side battles, you simply have to use some green, as is has two side battle cards, a way to recur them both, as well as a way to play one of them before battle.

You can actually play both of them before your opponent can do anything. Use a provisioned hero with HT active then play Visions.
And STOP talking about side battle decks. How can I be all ninja like if others are discussing the best strategy in the game??

One word: Pot O'Manna.
OK technically that is two words, but you get my point.

I would call it two and a half...and no one uses that card anyway. ::)
Even if they did, you can get rid of it with DoN, Captured Ark, or Lying unto God if you are afraid of it. (In other words, artifacts aren't very big threats.)
-
Don't forget that Jeremiah uses Cup of Wrath, so no point in using blue. Green and Gold is how I'd do it.

And forever put up the snickering when it is announced that you are the newb who used DoN on Pot O'Manna. ;)
-
Better than the n00b who used Pot O'Manna cause he heard someone was using a side battle deck. ;)

There is that. :D

But what evil enhancements are even worth playing in a side battle??? Troops discharged I can see... :)
-
But what evil enhancements are even worth playing in a side battle???
Troops Discharged + Great Image...that's just one...
-
More than I can count.
-
Before High Places, many of the "place" enhancements would have been good choices in a side-battle deck as well, and I suppose they still are. Another kind of card which side-battles enhance are the pale green diseases and paralyzers. This is not even including all the stuff you can do to mess with the main battle...

Now, now, now...let everyone download their own copy of the cardlist and research the bestest cards themselves. ;)

Even better is sword of the Lord + great image. Then you get ALL their heros. With Troops discharged you still hav ethe one in battle to deal with.

What? Wasn't it ruled that whenever a card referred to battle, it meant this battle? I thought Great Image would discard all the heroes in the main battle as well. ???
If not, I want to be able to start a side battle with Captain of the Host and negate the main battle.
-
Great Image
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: All opponents' Heroes in play that are not in the Field of Battle at end of this battle must be discarded. • Identifiers: OT, Depicts a Weapon • Verse: Daniel 2:31
-
Also wouldn't a side battle with coth negate the side battle?

Also wouldn't a side battle with coth negate the side battle?
That's the thing. I was pretty sure it was ruled Captain could not negate the card that started the side battle because he only affected cards in the main battle, regardless of his wording. If this is the way it works, then it seems to follow logically to me that Great Image would discard the hero in the main battle if played in a side battle, because "not in the field of battle" should mean "not in this battle." Or does the problem have something to do with the wording?
-
"In battle" = "Fighting in the current battle"
"In the Field of Battle" = "Anywhere a battle is being fought."
-
"In battle" = "Fighting in the current battle"
"In the Field of Battle" = "Anywhere a battle is being fought."
Where is this documented? That seems silly to me...

Battle
The phrase ‘in battle’ or ‘current battle’ refers to any cards in the current battle that can be either the primary battle (rescue attempt or battle challenge) or it can refer to a side battle, NOT BOTH. See also Battle Phase.
• Example 1: Achan’s Sin reads, “Interrupt the battle and remove all cards in battle from the game.” If this card is activated in a side battle then it will only interrupt and remove all the cards in the side battle. If this card is activated in a primary battle (rescue attempt or battle challenge) then it will interrupt and remove all the cards in that battle.
• Example 2: Devourer reads, “Interrupt and discard all good enhancements now in battle.” If this card is activated in a side battle then it will only interrupt and discard the good enhancements in the side battle. If this card is activated in a primary battle (rescue attempt or battle challenge) then it will interrupt and discard the good enhancements in that battle.
The phrase ‘Field of Battle’ refers to any cards in the Field of Battle including primary battle and side battles.
• Example: Deceit of Sapphira and Rizpah’s Sackcloth both read, “Discard all cards in the Field of Battle including yours.” Either of these cards will discard every card in the primary battle and the side battles regardless of which battle they were activated.

Thank you, but I still think it is very silly.

Eh, Just start playing a peanut butter deck (PB= prophets and Babs) and you dont have to worry about the whole field fo battle, current battle razzmatazz. Just flip up HT go in wiht a Prophet play SotL and then set up the Great Image hero killing bomb!
Its one of may favorite plays in that deck.
