Rotation Splashy Brown Bounce Defense

(1/2) > >>

Gabe:
You aren't going to make a lot of friends with this defense, but it sure is fun to play! Pair it with an offense that needs to bounce Heroes frequently for best results.

Mayhem - If you're going to be bouncing their Heroes there will be situations where it's good to shuffle.

Endless Treasures - too good not to use in every deck.
Golden Calf - Amazing counter card that gives ET and turn 1 target in deck.

This runs a pretty tight 7 ECs:

Foolish Shepherd - Need multi-ECs in this deck and his star ability is great!
Pagan Sailors - Gets you the brigade you need in a pinch and occasionally pulls off some neat Artifact tricks.
Foreign Wives - One of the best blockers of all time, plus she's a multi and Egyptian for Delivered.
Persian Horses/Persian Horsemen - A broken card that probably should see more play.
The Afflicted - Amazing in this deck.
The Lying Prophet - Draw more cards!
The Deceiver - Gets you who you need.

There are essentially 5 EEs in the main deck but Delivered only works on my ECs.

Delivered - Get that ET turn 1!
Death of Unrighteous - The original soul shuffle, chump block.
Scattered - Too good not to use.
Return the Captives - Bounce!
Famine in the Land - More bounce!
Hypocrisy - Even more bounce!

This reserve uses 6 spots for evil cards:

Profane Daughters - Gets her own battle winners, restricts Dominants and can play almost all of my EEs!
Lacking Prophecy - A CBN battle winner that can be grabbed with ET, Daughters and Horsemen!
Wasting Disease - Stall block that can be grabbed with ET, Daughters and Horsemen!
Unsuccessful - The best stall block!
Confusion - Grab it with Horsemen when you know you can sneak it through.
Reap the Whirlwind - Another Scattered that can be grabbed with Horsemen.

More amazing cards that didn't make the cut:

Flying Scroll - another brown Curse that didn't have good synergy with the bounce.
All the Curses - yes, another brown Curse that is really good.
Silly Women - she was in the first rendition of the defense but I didn't need quite that many multi ECs.
False Leaders - a stellar EC but requires you to build around him so he didn't quite fit with the small-ish package I'm using.
Necromancer - might be the next EC I add if I were to add another.
Gomer, Job's Wife, Vashti - could give you a really solid female based defense if you want to go that route. Combine with Foreign Wives and Daughters.
False Peace - because broad searches are great!
Go Away! - I haven't needed a fourth bounce card. Hypocrisy edges this for the off brigade spot due to CBP.

The idea is to get The Afflicted down ASAP. Deal with any counters that keep him from working. Bounce whatever Hero(es) you need to reset with your territory class EEs while bouncing all of your opponent's Heroes at the same time. If this is done on your turn you potentially deny them at least part draw phase (due to hand cap of 16) and they have to pay dearly to put down all but the first Hero. Then you bounce them all again the next turn and the next turn. It's quite demoralizing when it works. There are a lot of powerful chump blocks to carry you through and it's small enough to leave room for a good sized, powerful offense to get the job done.

Red Dragon Thorn:
In a defense where most every EC is brown does it make sense to run Reap the Whirlwind main and Scattered in reserve to limit potential exposure to random early Hannah/Mighty Men?

Watchman:
Have you considered running Wages to snag Shipwreck to deal with opponent’s Storehouse (the biggest counter to this strategy) or to get The Afflicted out quicker?  It can also get you Sailors, Persian Horses, Lying Prophet, and DoU.

I guess the counterargument would be that he's already like to have a lot of brigades and perhaps Scattered in the main deck is better to have a higher chance of having something to play against Falling Away/Elijah if your opponent happens to choose one of those brigades. Most opponents will probably know better I suppose, but perhaps not.

I'd probably be more worried about Noah's Ark since Woes can hit Storehouse, but between the two I'd agree that Shipwreck and probably Wages would be good ideas.

Feels like a good opportunity to run Balaam's Prophecy and Jeshua. Gets you another opportunity to grab The Afflicted (or Foolish Shepherd) and is really good speed and setup.

MarshallMatters:
Gabe is this similar to the defense you talked about for your hur- pocracy deck?
Im wondering what changes you would make if including this defense in a Classic formate Hur deck? Id like to try and beat classic throne deck.
What changes does everyone think I should make if this was classic formate?
