Title: Red/Pharisees Deck
Post by: Master Q on February 21, 2012, 03:27:35 PM
This is the new version of my deck from last year, which did fairly well last year, surprisingly. The goal is to manipulate the opponent's deck with Seeker, Wash Basin, Foreign Sword and Fearfulness to discard evil and good (using Warrior's Spear + Spy, or WB). It is a fun deck, and not currently the deck I'd use in tournies, so I'd like advice on what to cut/switch to get the deck size down and keep the main goal of manipulation.

I have found Gold Shield and Night Raid to be very effective in Pharisee decks.

I gave you a + 1 just because you're running Pontius Pilate. :P

Do you find that you lose heroes a lot? If not, you could take out Chariot. I mean, you have 10 heroes after all.

How does Viltellius work for you? Is the extra drawing really worth the high-numbered goon?

No Mustering for War?
It used to be here, but I don't really have room anymore. :-\

I have found Gold Shield and Night Raid to be very effective in Pharisee decks.
Night Raid was in my other version, and it was great, so I'd like that to be here, but I don't know what I'd want less. Gold Shield is ok, but I think it works better in Type 2; I always put it in, but then end up cutting it. If I wasn't partial to Fearfulness and Idle Gossip, Gold Shield and Night Raid would probably be in their place. False Peace was a really hard one to cut also, but I think Naz fits with this deck nicely  :P

Do you find that you lose heroes a lot? If not, you could take out Chariot. I mean, you have 10 heroes after all. Chariot's useful for getting back Heroes that I might lose early, and it works great for getting back Heroes discarded to Herod's Temple. Do I really need it? Probably not, I might try it without

How does Viltellius work for you? Is the extra drawing really worth the high-numbered goon? He is the most recent add, mainly to speed up the deck more. I haven't played a game with him yet, but I think he'd be better than Hard-Hearted Leaders, which he replaced. And he works where Sabbath Breaker fails: Sam bands and Isaiah bands :)

Why no Davids Mighty Men or Centurions Proclamation.

Why no Davids Mighty Men or Centurions Proclamation.
DMM doesn't interrupt, and I don't want to have to defend any more souls than I have to with Proc. Usually a banding chain or Abishai + a Centurion is enough to win a battle anyway, so I'm not worried about not having enough enhancements.
