What are the starter deck's concepts?

Hi there,

since I'm new to that game I'm struggling around with the starter decks. Owning G+H (but not yet played) and using I+J in Lackey (only played J so far myself).
So now I'm wondering what the concepts of all those decks are?
It least for J I figured out the extensive usage of Ruth (and partly Judges) cards as combos to get them back from discard pile, searching them in deck and using them against opponent (so the Ruth part is the main combo IMHO).
But what about the I deck and far more interesting to me: What about the G and H decks? How do they work out?

Does anybody know and might tell?

Many thanks in advance!

Bye

Thanks.

But is there any place where I can find out more about these concepts (since I'm hardly able to practice - above all using my own cards)?

There hasnt been much written about the starter decks. The best advice I have is to organize the decks in front of you by brigade and type. Study the cards til you know exactly what each one does and then playtest as much as possible to see card interactions.
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

There is a sample game using the G/H decks here:

Thanks guys, the sample game I already know about (while not yet examined). I also already studied a sample game given by a guy who introduces redemption completely via YouTube (if interested I can send some links - maybe could be used as a steady [locked] thread for newbies?).

Went through my G and H decks again, but from pure studiying (could not play them yet) they seem to be very weak compared to the I and J decks. Or am I wrong here?

No, you are very correct. The best card in those decks, in my opinion, is Moses, he is BTN and is just awsome.

Actually I think I would disagree. I believe the G/H decks are better in most aspects than the I/J decks and that's part of the reason that the I/J decks were made: because the better cards of the G/H decks were more complex than the average new player could readily understand. However, Reth, I believe I saw somewhere that you said you play(ed) MTG so you probably understood it a bit quicker than the "average new player."

Thanks, guys!

What does "BTN" stands for? (Or is there a glossary for acronyms somewhere around here?)

So hopefully I sometime will find out about that!

Right, maybe there's hope for me regarding this!  8)

BTN or FBTN is shorthand for "fight by the numbers" which is a general term for special abilities that negate all characters and enhancements (or similar effects) because the battles in old days (before CBN and CBP abilities) would be determined by just the number abilities */* on characters and enhancements.

Thanks again. Now I'm thinking about CBN/CBP (Card By Name?/Card By ...?) - what do they stand for?

My apologies, I used more acronyms in explaining an acronym, haha.

CBN/P/I are shorthand for "Cannot be negated/prevented/interrupted." Cards that "cannot be negated" or "cannot be prevented" are able to activate their special abilities even if a "fight by the numbers" character's negate ability is active because they cannot be negated/prevented. There isn't much of that in the G/H/I/J decks so hopefully that makes sense. :P

No reason for apologies thanks again for your explanations!

Now I need to edit my G and H decks into Lackey in order to get some experiences.

Accidentially just found a acronym glossary here in the forum.
