Title: Orange Defense
Post by: Carl deuty on December 25, 2009, 08:04:28 PM
Is orange a good stand alone defense or should it be splashed with another color. What is the best way to utilize a demon defense, should I splash with some humans or what?

it works fine by itself... i would most definitely throw in some sons of sceva and some uzzahs. another you could throw in is a TxP gomer to band to your King of Tyrus.  other than that, they work just fine:)

Orange is finally able to stand on its own I think, but it still works best when mixed with pretty much any other brigade, with grey, crimson, and Pale green being the best to mix.

I think orange is better with splash than as splash, but it is also okay by itself. It's a great brigade for a lot of things.

would anyone be concerned with three nails? I would think bc of cards like 3 nails that it would be a good idea to mix some humans, like gomer etc,in the defense. Any thoughts?

Seven Sons of Sceva, The Pit, DoN, a few humans, Doubt... all get past 3 nails. I dont run into too many issues.

Very few people even use Three Nails anyway, since few people use demons and it's often a wasted card.

Fixed it for ya, BB.

I'm quite positive Nails inclusion is a sub-region Meta-game thing. 3/4 of players in Rochester inlcude Nails in their decks, and the quarter that doesn't is playing with demons ;)

I always include a three nails, you never know when you are going to come across a demon defense or a splash that isnt prepared for three nails.

so, is crimson the best splash with orange because of seven son of sceva and the terrifying RED DRAGON! :o :o

Not necessarily... crimson is a good one because of midianite attack, the old gomer, and perhaps the old fallen angel (depends on your preference), but I know that use brown for many reasons.
I know another person swears by grey (even though I haven't played him...)

can anyone explain how orange and grey work good together? Are they splashed with grey humans or more demons?
