I was wondering if this combo would be an effective part of a type 2 offense.
Basic strategy: Set Mentor aside with The Sabbath so that Red enhancements cannot be negated the next time he attacks. Attack with Mentor, band to Claudia, band to Ethiopean Treasurer, then play Walking on Water. You will be 16/18 with unnegatable immunity to all evil brigades. Include some Red Brigade warrior class heroes, perhaps The Centurion at Capernaum or Asahel, to use A Soldier's Prayer x5 to recur The Sabbath. You can recur it, right? Multicolor enhancement = red enhancement?
Would this work? Could it win battles?

It would work, but it wouldn't win battles. You'd lose to coward-blocks like Uzzah or Failed Objective.
-
Match it with Covenant of Noah active for DoU/Failed Objective and those cards. As for Uzzah and stuff you could throw in TSA and Capn so you could use the new territory class to negate Uzzah and stuff. But that is 4 colors now on offense.

I think it could win, simply because so few people would expect it.

Covenant of Noah doesn't negate DoU/Failed Objective.

The major problem is that even if you make a couple successful rescues, Claudia and ET will both gain experience credit and Mentor will not be able to band to either of them eventually. However, there are definitely some fun Red/Purple possibilities for T2 including the one you mentioned.

why not? it interrupts and negates any good enchantment in play?
-
The ability completes. The character is instantly d/c'd as is the enh because of no ec.
-
So in other words, they are cannot be negated without saying it!?!?

They are effectively cannot be interrupted, unless there is an EC in battle who cannot be discarded for some reason.
