Well, I've tried teal/crimsonishstandalones. I've tried Job/Magicians (thank you, Master Q!), but now I'm already out of ideas. I don't want something too common, like disciples, and since I just did Job, I'd rather not do Watchful Servant. I was considering a herod/egyptian deck, but not sure what to use for the offense. I'd also thought about using gray, but don't want to use blue for the offense, since that's far too common...ideas? I will NOT do TGT.

Gold/Gold supermill is fun, Abom is still tons of fun, Grey is a fantastic defense and is much better paired with FbtNB and/or CTB than Genesis.
-
grey? with fbtnb? ???
-
Musicians/Splash banding.

Well, I've tried teal/crimsonishstandalones. And lost, while a disciple deck won I've tried Job/Magicians And Lost, while a TGT deck won (thank you, Master Q!), but now I'm already out of ideas. Trumpet & sword deck ftw
-
Oh, you want good ideas. Daniel/Angels with Jacob.
-
Herods and egyptians are both pretty common. If you're wanting to use something different, try an all red offense with all pale green defense.

Fixed.
-
The self capture is nice, but it changes the all red and all pg setup.
-
Wanting to try something different is one thing, intentionally sabotaging the effectiveness of your deck to stay exactly on-theme is another.
-
Doesn't really hurt the deck though to leave them out. Not using them makes your deck a lot faster and if your raiders camp doesn't come up until late it actually hurts you to add them in.
-
I'd like to try a Heretic/site lock-out defense, but I need more Disciple cards.
-
Two cards faster is not "a lot faster." If RC comes up late it doesn't hurt you to have them in, it just doesn't help you. For three cards to get tons and tons of guaranteed blocks, it's always worth it in my book. Plus, if you use any other Capture cards, Raider's Camp becomes even more useful.
RC self-capture is one of the few un-prepared-for defensive strats, and if Blue Tassels isn't out your opponent is going to have a hard time winning before you do.
-
All red and all pg, or red/pg with the two self captureable(if that's a word) heros both will be fine. Whatever he is wanting to try. Either option would work.
-
How are Ittai and Midwives captureable?

Yeah. I was one card away from beating the TGT deck. I just had a bad Mayhem. Dumb mistake. I also should have DoN'd your Nails. Not sure what I was thinking. As for the disciple deck, I never played it, but again, due to a dumb mistake, I missed my opportunity.
But for the sake of TEAMS and our awesome decks, I will forgive you.
Red/Gray might be fun. I wanted to try hand discard with deck discard, but I hate blue so very much. And self-capture is meh. Too risky.

A poorly constructed TGT deck that lacked 3 very very important cards.

TGT, for one.
