Title: Issiah Gray
Post by: The Schaefer on April 20, 2012, 03:33:51 PM
Is an Issiah Gray speed type deck any good right now? and if so what are some staples for it?

So a deck with an Isaiah offense and a Pharisee defense. It would be pretty fast. You could basically combine  this offense  (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/type-1-deck-advice/isaiah-assyrians/msg436159/#msg436159) and  and some defense sorta like this  (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/type-1-deck-advice/all-the-kewl-kids-are-doing-it/msg424283/#msg424283).

With an Isiah Offense you would probably have room for a slightly larger defense than depicted in The Hobbit's deck.  Here's what I would do.  The defense I outlined here is a pretty good size if you want to bump it up more add in Naaman and his Horses.  If you want to take it down oust Hard-Hearted Relegious leaders, Just a hireling, and gib trick.

Orange ECs: KoT

Brown ECs: Gomer, Uzzah

Multi ECs: Scribe, TAS

Gray ECs: The Entrapping Pharisee, Hard-Hearted Religious Leaders, Proud Pharisee, Pharisees, Sabbath Breaker

Gray EEs: Pretension, Balaam’s Disobedience

Multi EEs: Just a hireling

Brown EEs: Plot, Gib Trick

I'd definitely use the Warriors KoT instead of the Priests (assuming your collection allows for it).

I am. Proud Pharisee is epic win, and the brown splash Wings suggested will help somewhat against FBTN which is Pharisees main weakness.

Why? I see absolutely no reason to have one or the other except for the fact gold is played a little more then orange so it could possibly offer TGT protection.

So you can block with TAS or KoT with against a TGT hero with TGT in play.

Gold King of Tyrus is always the better option in a meta defense (or a defense like this) due to the odd TGT chance. I have lost a small handful of games when I was unwittingly using the orange KoT because I feared an RLK using Miriam more than that small chance to stop TGT.

I knew that Hobbits defense was to small, but it was the first thing that I could find.

You're right should've put down Gold.

Gomer + Scribe + Pharisees + PP + Gib trick = Win.  :D

Fair enough.
