Title: How to run martyrs
Post by: Ironisaac on June 13, 2017, 12:52:53 PM
What is the best way to run a martyr deck? Straight roj martyrs, Acts Peter and Stephen martyrs, disciples martyrs, or martyrs plashed into a NT white deck?

I tend to favor an almost all Revelation based martyr/angel hybrid but my play style gravitates toward raw power over long game synergy.

I use music leader with word of Christ, love righteousness, hate wickedness, and warning against rebellion. I also use faith of Moses and faith of Moses' parents with Cloud of Witnesses in the reserve. Along with the new martyrs I splash woman with Child and priest of Christ. With overcome, this deck always has enhancements. I love playing it.

I think it remains to be seen what the "optimal" Martyr build looks like.

Personally I think Peter belongs in pretty much any deck with primarily Clay Heroes because of his missionary status (for church theme decks) and his heal ability.

Don't run Peter because I usually get You will Remain out quickly with this build. Plus the fact that I want a martyr or two in the d/c pile anyway for Justin or Antipas so I never use the healing ability to warrant him in there imo

True, but it's certainly nice to keep Justin out of the discard pile...  8)

Love righteousness does that for me

I've found love righteousness to be one of the most valuable cards in many of my white decks.
