Title: Herod defense

Would a herod defense work well with a disciple offense?

The biggest issue with Herods is their lack of initiative. This is often okay, as they are able to instead discards with Temple or pick which hero of a banding chain stays in battle, but it's still an issue. However, in order to have a Herod defense, you need quite a few support cards, which will take up a lot of real estate in a deck that more or less requires 10+ Heroes with enhancements.

You could certainly try it out, but if you want a better pairing with a Disicples offense, I'd try Pharisees.

Alright cause I have pharisees alone and also for bigger decks a pharisees/sadducees mix defense

i will say the herod agrippa I with peter and raiders camp in your deck can be supper effective and if you put torment in your deck in can almost always be 2 for sure blocks

I played a Disciples/Herod deck for a bit last season (prior to the 2011 set release), but I ended up switching the offense out for Prophets. Disciples don't have much protection from capture and pretty much have to have Blue Tassels active, but Tassels foiled the best 2 blocks Herods have (Agrippa II with Treachery, and Herod's Dungeon). The sharing of Herod's Temple was nice, but they just didn't mesh well aside from that.
