Title: Different types of Decks
Post by: Crashfach2002 on October 18, 2018, 05:10:32 PM
Hey guys,

A while ago I posted several decks based on different types of abilities and specific deck archetypes.  So I'm looking for new ideas as 3 sets have come out since I have upgraded or added to these.  Here is what I have so far to give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

Fight by the Number (band)
Hand Control/Discard
Toss
Heroless
Deck Discard / Mill
A-Bomb
Paralyze
Site Lock
Decrease
Turtle
Speed

I had 12 different decks, but I'm thinking about combining my FBTN deck with my FBTNB deck to maximize those and to also have a large variety.  That would mean I need a 12th deck (reason coming out soon), and possibly more as I'm always looking to add on and possibly replace decks that are too similar.  So please let me know your thoughts.

So A-Bomb is basically a Territory Discard/Control deck. I don't see a Capture or Convert deck here. You might be able to add another archetype that will be brand new with the PoC set in Reserve Stash/Control. You could even add Side Battle.

Hero-lite could be a sub-category of Heroless or a standalone in its own right.  :dunno:

Godspeed,
Mike

I'm probably just going to name the A-Bomb deck Territory Control, as the offense does some of that too.

My Level 2 deck is basically convert on offense and capture on defense, so I wasn't planning on making a particular deck for those.

I'm interested in seeing how this reserve manipulation will work, but I tend to stay 2-3 sets behind just to control the "power creep" a little bit (plus I have to have the extra cards to build, as I have all of these decks pre-built).  So we will see what this looks like though.

I do like the idea of a side battle shenanigans deck, does anybody have anything like this already made/posted?

Godspeed,
Mike

So, I considered Herolite to also be my Turtle deck.  Considering my Hero-less, Turtle, Decrease & Site-Lock decks are all basically Herolite, I'm going to remove Turtle from the list and let Hero-less cover that.

So here is a new list of what I'm thinking:

FBTNB
Hand Control
Toss
Heroless
Mill
Territory Control
Paralyze
Site-Lock
Decrease
Speed

Would like to add:

Side Battles
Extender

This would be 12, but again, I'm always looking for more.  I will very soon be posting the current decklists and will be looking for advice on what to change.  Just FYI, I'm not looking for how to make them win a tournament, these are to introduce the type of deck I'm running and need to focus on that first, then possibly winning later!

How about defenseless or very defense-lite?

Mike

I don't have any true plans to do a special deck built around that because the speed deck has very little defense.

Speed does tend to run defense-lite, but defenseless, as an archetype, doesn't have to be speed. If you are looking for archetype decks. I may be misunderstanding what you are asking for though.

I saw defense light and completely missed the defenseless part.  I would be unsure of what to run for that type of deck outside of speed.  Any suggestions?

Addition to the Redemption bucket list: Invent a combo deck and name it That Ain't Falco.

Another type is Choose the Blocker (combos with Asahel, Ehud, King Amaziah, Obedience of Noah, The Lying Spirit, Provisions, etc)

Does anyone have a combo deck that they suggest?

Does anyone have a workable decklist?  I can figure out the basics, but again not the greatest deck builder, so help would be more than welcome.
