Hey all, I'm building a new deck and could use an idea for a card. Since I'm not real familiar with all the different cards in Redemption I betting someone else can answer this. I have "Demon behind the Idol" in my deck to allow me to retrieve an enhancement but am confused on what artifact I can play that works for me in two ways; one fulfilling this requirement, and two supporting my deck in other ways so as not to just be a space filler. I am playing a priest offense, with a orange/pale green defense. I would rather not go too far in depth of the goal of this deck because I want to try it out first and see if it works. This will help me in learning the good/bad things I accomplished with the deck. So, any suggestions on artifacts/curses/cov? that would fulfill these two requirements?
Thanks all and God Bless each of you.

So you want us to recommend an Idol that accomplishes the goal of your deck, but you won't tell us the goal of your deck?
In either case, the only good idols are Asherah Pole (makes Evil Enhancements of both players CBN against O.T. Heroes) and Household Idols (Negates good banding and Ignores Heroes with a banding ability...somehow). Since your offense is O.T. and most Teal stuff is CBN anyway, you'd probably want to go with HHI. It's a great card to combo with PotW.

Captured Ark and Unknown Nation are also useful. Captured Ark can get rid of their protection or speed artifact for a time, and Unknown Nation is handy if they manage AoCp.
-
Ah, forgot about the Curses. But of those, Captured Ark can only be active for two turns which isn't too terribly helpful for DBI. Unknown Nation is a good alternative to HHI, but even though you can have it active as long as you want, it's best use is to Discard it. HHI is the most solid Artifact to use in a deck with DBI that has an O.T. offense.

Golden Cow is another good one. as long as you aren't using an OT offense
-
As long as portion of your defense is human altar of dagon works out pretty good too, protects from conversion

Well, he is, so this is kind of a moot point ;)

HAHA Thanks Browarod. I didn't want to have to point back to my first post.

Hey P,
HAHA. I see your point about not stating th goal of the deck. I guess I figured the advice that I would receive that would be worthy would be from someone who has played long enough to understand the main characteristics of the colors that I stated.
To answer this point, after clearing it up a little yesterday i have a entire O.T. offense, save Priests of Christ (Revelations?) that focuses on battle winners and protection in all manners. My defense is "balanced" (as "balanced" as a newbie can make it!!!) between orange/pale green with an emphasis on demons (orange) and magicians(pale green). The goal I had was to control my opponents by card placement on their heroes/territory, and attrition through their defense.
I like the idea of the Household Idols, but I'm concerned if it would conflict with O.T. offense? specifically (Perpetual preisthood).
Finally, I'm not very familiar with place cards and territory cards - one reason for building this deck, so any advice would be great.

A priests offense relies more on battle winners than banding, but there are quite a few of the Z's Temple Priests that are banding cards (which HHI doesn't allow to enter battle) so you do have to be careful. However, HHI is a MUCH better choice with your OT offense than either of the other two useful idol artifacts (Golden Calf and Asherah Pole). So I would go with that. Also, as MP pointed out, HHI goes great with Prince of this World. Perpetual Priesthood is not a necessary card for a typical Priest offense, so depending on what you have, I would bet there is a better choice anyway. Even if not, you can always deactivate HHI the turn you plan to use it.
As far as place/territory cards go, Pale Green and Orange have some good ones. Destructive Sin is one of the best TC enhancements there is, and Pale Green specializes in making opponent's heroes unusable through place cards. Placed cards that aren't TC are best if used along with High Places.
One warning however: The weakness of a placed card defense is that there is not as much room left for battle winners. Often placed cards are only effective against heroes in territory, so you won't win many battles with them. I haven't seen a very effective defense with placed cards as the primary strategy yet, but it may be possible. And if it is, Orange/Pale is definitely your best bet.

Awesome advice Prof.!!! Thanks!! I agree with the HHI and think I will include it in the deck. I'm not so concerned with the disadvantages of not banding my preists as I am with the benefit of PotW with HHI, so I think I will take out Perp. Preisth. Destructive Sin is already in their as well as Sinning Hand, which I think is good too.
I'm just going to go ahead and post the deck. Any suggestions from anyone is welcome, but for the few that have kept up on this (which I highly appreciate) please give me your best opinion, specifically on GE's and EE's.
Also, is there a way to obtain High places quicker than just waiting for it? My deck is looking as though it's kinda centered around it!?
Thanks guys.

For Demon behind the Idol, you may not even want to save him from discard when you've got Tartaros. All the happens is that he goes there. You block with Evil Spawn next time and hopefully win the battle as a result of the Enhancement you placed at the bottom and DbtI is released back to your territory.
