Does Cactus Games have any intention of creating some new starter decks with some of the newer sets in them? (K & L decks)?
-
Cactus has always been good to roll out a new starter deck when they feel the other has been around long enough, or the demand for a new one starts up, like it did before the I/J ones came out. Just so you get an idea of when they came out.
A/B: 1995
C/D: 2000
E/F: 2004
G/H: 2005 (Mostly due to it being the 10th anniversary)
I/J: 2013
So it started where they came around every 5 years. With the E/F & G/H being so close together, they waiting a little while to print the next one. I'd expect to see a starter deck in the next 2-3 years, but with the I/J being so good and so popular, the demand won't get quite as loud as it was for the I/J to come out.

Typically Rob commissions a new starter deck once the previous starter deck inventory begins to run low. I have no idea how close he is to that point.

would love to see teal in the next one whenever that comes...
It would be nice to remake some of the solomon's temple priests from the Priests set, and give them some abilities that would make people want to play them.
-
Teal would be challenging for a starter deck because its less likely to be pulled from a pack for Sealed deck, putting the player who gets the Teal/other deck at a disadvantage.
-
A clay-based starter deck would be prudent (lots of clay out there!)

That totally depends on how we implement teal, such as which other brigade it's paired with and how many two brigade teal cards (especially Heroes) we make.
-
True enough--it would also give more reason to make a standard Sealed deck "pack option."
Personally I would be a big fan of:
1 Unlimited/Prophets/Women (if host was willing to offer Women packs)
1 of any 10 card foil packs the host offers
1 of any box packs the host offers
But that's a separate discussion for later. 8)

My Redemption wishlist has pretty much always been:
1. Revelation set
2. Teal starter deck
I can't think of anything I would be happier to see than a teal starter deck.
-
Teal and Clay (mono offense for each deck) or dual brigade offense with those brigades as well as red and blue reboot.
-
Everyone wants some basic cards because 3 of the last 4 sets rocked the meta. People want a starter to try and catch up lol!
-
Red and Teal offense for one of the starters deck would be awesome.

I think we are do for a starter deck.
Why?
Three reasons.
1. Each time Redemption game design has shifted with a starter deck. I believe I/J was used to jumpstart the Early Church epoch and as of Revelation of John that epoch/block has ended. Considering it would be time to jump back to the Old Testament, a starter deck can help us move our game design in that direction.
2. New card size. It would be nice to have the capability to have some sort of deck of all newer sized cards.
3. Clay and teal would appreciate being in a starter deck :P and also an updated rulebook would once again be nice. (Also would be cool if it contained a Quick-Start guide like Karius made :))
All of that being said, I would say we aren't in urgent need of a new one because I/J works VERY well for teaching.
-
we are planning to begin with the i/j starter decks in development of the Redemption mobile app :))

Red and Teal offense for one of the starters deck would be awesome.
Reprint Zadok and Ithmar for teal and make two new (preferably WC) tab priests. Then for red, Eleazar, Israelite Archer, Elhanan(same art ;D), and one other kings WC guy who needs a reprint. That would be a sick starter deck!
-
I've wanted to see a red/teal Ahimaaz for years now. A red/teal Phinehas, son of Eleazar would be pretty sweet too!

I agree, particularly with points 2 and 3 and the summary.
