Which expansions should I start with?

Just curious if you guys recommend a newcomer start with a certain expansion and forward or no? Like would you advise I not worry about getting some of the earlier expansions?

It depends on what your goal is. If your goal is to build your collection then buy display boxes from TeP onward as they will contain new and old cards (or buy complete sets).  If you’re looking at wanting to play competitively then focus more on the newer cards, then cherry pick older cards as needed.

It also depends on what type of deck you want to build.  If there is a large group of cards that would be beneficial to that theme in one set then obviously that one would be suggested over others.  If the best cards are scattered over several sets then buying individual cards might be your best best.

I would recommend the newest 2 expansions for beginners. Lineage of Christ offers supper packs that give you a 2 rares or higher and 8 other cards from that set. Gospel of Christ is the newest set and the second phase was just released but is being distributed at the moment. I would recommend getting one of the new I/J starter decks (4th edition) with the I/J+ 6 promotional cards included. A new starter deck will be released soon and I recommend picking that up when it does.
