Okay, I know a somewhat overused method, but I was going to make a 1 Samuel draw offense, but I am not sure what defense would couple with it well? I am going to try the 1 Samuel offense mainly mentioned in the LoR Cloud articles. :) I just want to try a fast pulling deck. Thanks!

Brown works pretty well with 1 Samuel because King Saul becomes a very versatile character being able to be used for offense or defense. Though he's not 1 Samuel, Joab is also pretty versatile because he bands to King Saul on defense or Ahimelek on offense.
Medium in Endor works great when King Saul is on the table and Doeg benefits from an evil King Saul.

I always preferred black because it lacks speed and 1 Samuel offense has speed. Also you can use Foreign Sword on defense if necessary.

I agree with this, plus King Achish works best when David is in play.
I like Brown too. Medium becomes CBP when King Saul is in play, even if he is a hero.

I think you might be missing the boat on straight brown.

I consider Jobs Wife or Selfish Kinsman strictly better because of Deciever and CBN Stiff Necked.Straight brown is kinda eh. Black got Annanias and War so I'd go with that.

Brown is definitely viable but I don't think it's quite on par with some of the other options. About half those cards you mentioned are either unplayable or not unique to brown.

Having both Complainers and Medium is just ridiculous.
What I like about Brown is that there's just so many strong ECs and your opponent only gets one AotL (2 if they use TSC to get AotL back).

Philistine Armor Bearer, Saph, War, Outsiders, Simon the Magician, Fire Foxes for starters. Disbelieving Sadducees is also pretty nice for Angel tech.

Well it's more relevant to t2 but Demetrius the silvermith is beastly and both black/gold outsiders and the priest of Zeus are a pain as well. I have a feeling that both sisera and black Simon the magician will be very strong particularly the later due to RoJ. I'm not saying black is better than brown but black isn't short on options. Both black and brown are easily paired with other good themes too so I think either is great.

I vote brown! I agree with Josiah's earlier post. Gomer can band to any evil EC. Jobs wife is ridiculous. You have uzzah for a quick and easy chump block. You could also think about Schmei ( can't spell it) and possibly Michal. King ahazariah is nice to get provoked back. So many possibilities with brown!

I'm seeing everyone is saying brown is strong, and it has always has had strong EC's, the EE's were lacking for a while, but he asked what paired well with I Samuel. The amount of speed on offense allows you to use anything on defense but your defense has to have counters for artifacts and a few other things to tech for. I feel like most colors have that now a days but pale green due to ASA takes out most counters. Any defense that techs for counters such as curses, Naz, HHI, Hezzy's Ring, etc. gives your offense an edge. Although a well put together I Samuel offense has its own counters, the defense has to be able to counter as well. I do agree brown is a good fit, just has to be constructed correctly.

Definitely agree that a lot of defenses work with 1 Samuel deck but I just think that the synergy and versatility with King Saul gives Brown the edge.

The problem with King Saul in a I Samuel/Brown deck is I find myself wanting to use him for every rescue (band to Abby/Dave) AND every block (band to Medium, Joab, Am Slave, Doeg, makes Doeg's discard work, etc) :(
King Saul banded to Am Slave is fun if you have good human EC options in deck ;)
