What ways are there to recur SoG if it was discarded before you could use it. I know of the one angel, is there any other way?
-
Goods Recovered could do it.
-
Angel at Tomb as well.
-
There are plenty of ways to protect your hand or deck from it being discarded...but I can't think of a card other than Goods Recovered and Angel at Tomb that can get it back.
-
Ugh. that's red. i just had my sog d/c from my genesis deck, and it made it soo hard to get all 5. :p
-
are there ways in a genesis deck to pull SoG out?
-
Splash in Captain (Since he should be there anyway) And Angel at Shur, then play Birth Foretold.
-
You could also use Search since you have Joseph, and that plus HT could give you what you need regardless of the situation, whereas Birth Foretold is useless in that deck if you draw SoG first.
-
And Search/Hidden Treasurs is worthless if Joseph gets taken out (granted he has recurring potential but so does SoG)

The whole point of a Genesis deck is to have Joseph out or recurred. If he's gone forever, you're in more trouble than just not having SoG. Also, his small size and Search's CBN status when used on a prophet makes it viable without HT. You have to add one card to the deck vs a completely different brigade most of those decks don't run (as Silver is the only practical way to get SoG faster or recur when it's gone).

Captain's not genesis, so that would greatly hurt my offense. Angel would be worth putting in though, because then I could jacob + angel to search for joseph.
-
False Peace can also search for SoG.
-
Trust me. Captain is worth having in a Genesis deck. He only affects Zebulun, and frankly, If you're that reliant on Zebulun - You A)Don't care if you lose Sog or B)Have already lost.
-
it affects more than just zeb. it also kills benjamin.
-
Benjamin says "if your human heroes are genesis."
Benjamin don't care about angels.
-
0.0 ooh. I likey.

Yeah, you definitely need Captain in there. Rachel + Jacob + Captain kicks butt. If you have Abel as a backup prophet, you could also add more green support, like HT and Creation and Search and Caves. (Search gets out SoG.) Or if you want to get more SoG-specific, you could add Angel at Tomb and Birth Foretold, in which case I would seriously consider adding Isaac as well.

El Capietan is a must in Gen, he dosen't really hurt you at all, and late game Jacob + CotH can be just as good as Zeb anyways.
-
El Capitan is a must not in a concentrated Genesis deck. For a Genesis speed deck Captain messes up Zeb a surprising amount of times, and Zeb is your #2 hero in a Genesis speed deck. But in a non-speed deck or a deck that utilizes more silver than just Captain I would say that captain is definitely a must.
-
Zeb and Captain actually work really well together because they cover each others weakness. Gabe's National winning type 2 deck (2010) was almost exclusively Zebulan and Jacob-Captain.
-
In T2 I could definitely see Captain and Zeb in the same deck, I have a harder time seeing it in T1 though.

Since when are Genesis decks speed. I think I need to revert back to an old thread because many people can't grasp the true concept of a speed deck.
