Title: NT Females
Post by: browarod on January 18, 2010, 01:15:24 PM
I want to build a NT Females deck and/or a deck using Lydia.

I haven't played these themes much, so I'm wondering if there's a viable way of doing it without using TGT. I am vehemently against using TGT, and won't use it unless there is absolutely no other option.

Please halp?

They are SUPER fun and VERY powerful, and Garden Tomb is just gravy in my NT female deck and rarely comes up.  Especially with the new Spirit as a Dove promo and Susanna (TxP) they are a force to be reckoned with.  One of their greatest strengths is that they have access to every lost soul except first round protect (on the round he comes out), so you don't have to fret about Female Only and NT only lost souls.  I will look up my casual NT females deck and post the offense for you.

If you decide not to use TGT, then the best deck I can think of is one that would include Lydia & AoC Promo, lots of negates and maybe Transfiguration with Moses.  I have run this without TGT before and it does ok, but it really works much better with it!  (despite me being someone who tries to avoid using it too)

Heroes - Mary, Jairus' Daughter, Mary the Mother of James, Susanna, Salome, Lydia, Priscilla, Philip's Daughters, Peter's Mother-in-Law

Hero Enhancements - A Child is Born, Cymbals of the Levites, Blessings, He is Risen, First Fruits, Faith in Our High Priest, Joseph before Pharaoh, No Need for Spices, Scarlet Line, Words of Encouragement, Consider the Lillies, Fellowship, Spirit as a Dove

Also include Golden Calf and Asherah Pole if you really want to mess with those OT decks :)

That looks okay, but is Lydia in there for any special reason, other than being an NT-female? I kind of want to use her for everything she can do (so, including the purple enhancements part).

Apart from (or possibly including) TGT, the single-best NT Female hero in the game is The Woman at the Well. That said, Lydia is nice, but a white/gold offense might not be a bad idea either. Though the only Gold NT females that are any good are The Woman at the Well, and The Generous Widow (Martha + Mary of Bethany is decent).

Hmmm, if I scrap the NT Females theme, can I still make a viable deck that has Lydia somewhere in it (and not just in it to be in it)?

Lydia gave an opponent fits recently against his capture deck, so yes, she is good by herself.  You don't have to use all 9 I mentioned, but is sure is fun for Susanna to look at the top nine cards and put 3 lost souls on the bottom of the deck :)

Just use a standard broken Lydia/FSP speed offense.

Lydia and FSP on offense with AoCP, Reach, Words, He is Risen!, Transfiguration, all the White recursion, Plague of Frogs, Hur, Pentecost, FoT, and a speed defense.

This is for an IRL deck, and I don't see myself easily acquiring an FSP, so unfortunately I don't think I can build your suggestion.

Doesn't seem like enough heroes, and you'll have to spell out the "white recursion", I doubt I know all of them.

I honestly don't know all the best cards, so you'll have to specifically list the "various enhancements" otherwise I'll have no idea how to use your idea :(

It doesn't matter really. Just make a goal of the deck to use Lydia to the pwnage. Set her aside with Built on a rock. Get her out of your deck with drawn out. She's the pwnzor then. Use cool enhancments the you like. Win the game.

Thanks for the info, but both of your ideas seem to be lacking in the number of heroes department.

There are more Heroes than just the ones I mentioned. The actual Hero lineup should look something like:

Lydia
FSP
Hur
Benaiah
King Amazing
Moses
Elijah
ET
The Magi
Susanna

Of course, there's really no reason not to add TGT other than sheer stubbornness. The reason the card is so broken is that it makes a very powerful offense exponentially more powerful just by adding one card.

First, thanks for the list. Second, TGT doesn't work with any of the listed heroes. Third, who is King Amazing???

king amaziah.
Ah, I thought so. Thanks for clarifying. But, why is he so good?

pick a 1/1 king and get a ls if you can.

TGT doesn't work with any of those Heroes, no, but in the Brigades you're already using you have MoJ, Salome, John, and Joanna. The lineup will look slightly different (and better) with TGT.

King Amazing is a free LS (barring deus ex machina stuff like Doms). You really can't go wrong.

Susanna (Tep)
Lydia (g or H?)
Mary mother of James
Salome
Mary magdelene
Joanna
Joseph of Arimathea
Claudia
ET
John (g or H)
Moses

Reach of Desperation
AocP

Words of Encouragement
Blessings
No Need for Spices
he is Risen
Spirit as a Dove (local Promo)
Lillies of the Field (tep)
Transfiguration

TGT

This is what my TGT offense looks like.  I use TGT more for the CBN banding that Mary gets than anything else.

I know Seeker of the lost is a little cheaper then FSP but it uses red yellow and blue with an awesome effect.
