The two versions of the "Lost Souls" card

Hi all,

I notice that most T1 decks have the "two line" version in them.  Is that the preferred version because you can still rescue it yourself?

I assume that if opponent rescues it once, and then I play Son of God, I don't get two Lost Souls, right?

Thanks for helping me understand better :)

the 2-liner lets anyone rescue so in 2-player its good but in  multi-player someone other than the person to get the first half could get it which is why 3-liner is better

If your opponent rescues the first half of the 2-liner and then you play Son of God, you each get credit for one rescued Lost Soul. Therefore, the second half of the 2-liner can be rescued by anyone.

The second half of the 3-liner can only be rescued by the player who rescued the first half.

If you Son of God your own Three Liner (And NJ another Lost Soul), does that prevent your opponent from rescuing it?

Yes, but as long as it's in your own Land of Bondage, you don't really have an opportunity to get it either.

What I prefer is to rescue half of the other player's three-liner, swap it with the Exchanger or similar, and then if need be, rescue the exchanger soul so they can't swap back.  If they have a 2-liner, your best option is to rescue half of your own with a Dominant, and swap it with another card like Prisoner Transfer or the Babylonian EC that swaps.

There's no point to this.  If you are going to do this to try to keep your opponent from having a LS to rescue, then just don't put the 3-liner in your deck and put another LS instead.  When you rescue that other one, it will be gone (meaning your opponent can't get it), and you'll get credit for it (which is better than half a 3-liner).

Isn't that still pretty risky considering Death of Unrighteous?  Is it really a good idea to risk burning the use of SoG?

And, by the way, sneeze if you need to:
