Well, no surprise here! Disciples did it again. I previously won a district in TN with this deck. Most of my harder competion wasnt around for this event due to T2 multi going on at same time except for the likes of Mark Underwood (aka Prof Underwood) whom i faced Round 2 with dreaded fear. Luckily, the deck drew perfectly with a turn one
Matt+ 2 other disciples down and Mayhem for 4 on turn 1! Can we say NPE? Anyway, I love watching this deck autopilot itself to victory.

PS- Dont Forget to add those Nazzy's to shutdown Philly Outpost at NATS! :)

What a strange phrase.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Clearly no one at the tournament likes Herods. Or Philistines. Or defense in general.

This offense doesn't have enough fire power. You can play AoCP twice, and maybe get a ML&MG home, but then what? Thad isn't big enough in T1.

i agree, the offensive firepower looked rather low. also missing some disciples. tassels seems counter-intuitive with your own writ and bart.

Guys, if you think this deck is weak go fire up RTS and play him. He will most oftenly beat you soundly.

can't spell oftenly....

It's ok, there were more issues with the post than just that ;)

I'm not an english major, but I probably would have structured it like this:

"Guys, if you think Cliff's deck is weak, go play him on RTS. He will beat you soundly most of the time"

The problem with your phrasing is that oftenly, besides not even being a word, would be an adverb, and it doesn't really have anything to modify with how you used it.

Red, I'll give it another try.
Guys, if you think that Clift's deck lacks the fire power to efficiently acquire 5 lost souls, fire up RTS and play him in a game; he will beat you 90% of the time. Just kidding, don't know if a semicolon works their, but seriously Clift is one of the best players in the game, so he knows what he is doing.

I beat a deck like this that also included red at IA state. I still had plenty of defense by the end. I know Clift is good, but I just don't see how this deck could get through a real defense, unless it drew poorly. Although, nobody plays real defenses, and it's really fast, and it's in good hands, so I'm not too surprised it won. I don't see it placing at nats though.

Wow,I cant believe that this deck won.  there are so few enhancements here.  IF matthew dies/gets removed, then this deck gets hurt.  An early gabe really hurts this deck.  A stiff ANY defense really hurts this deck...Now I wish I had come to this tournament.....

I have a deck that would potentially hold this deck to zero LS's (gotta love Altar of Ahaz).  Man, I really wish I had come now....

I don't see how that defense can hold out for long at all.

It's a speed deck with a couple auto-blocks...those have been doing well for years. Definitely think an Uzzah would be worth the extra slot though.

Granted, my game was kinda over in the first turn with his Matthew + 2 buddies taking the first turn and getting a walk-in 1st LS, putting down 9 of his 11 cards in hand, and playing Mayhem after my draw.  By that point he already had out Nazzy (to shut down Philly Outpost), Golgotha (to shut down both speed TGT and defense heavy Zeb/Watchful Servant decks), and CP (to protect both those sites).  He also drew into a CM just when he needed it to get a block, and some other stuff, so that game was just meant to be.

However, you guys are knocking this deck as simply speed, when it's really not.  In his last game of the tourney, he played a really long game with Josh, and his defense was able to hold up long enough to basically deck him out (despite a decently strong angel offense).  I really can't think of a deck that I could've played that would've had much of a chance against him in our particular game, and I suspect that he'll do better with this deck (assuming he even plays it at Nats) than you guys think he will.

This deck is amazing.  I'm not surprised at all that it won a State level tournament.  I expect to see offenses like this winning all over the place.  Insert whatever small stand alone defense you want that can make a couple successful blocks against Disciples, TGT or FBTNb.

The only criticism I have of the deck is that it has 3 cards too many.  ;)

Congrats, Clift.

I do like the sound of Uzzah.

I also feel that the offence should have an extra battle winner maybe. Abes Kid is amazing and no I didnt have another blue hero besides Claudia b/c I think the purple Bart is better. (In type 1 that is. :) )

Something else on defense like Tenants Kill the Son also interest me.

I would like to see something in the deck to stop my opponents Herods Temple because of all my discards.

I never use Entrappings ability and I feel it clashes with Blue Tassels but I need the pharisee count for Proud. I have never used Hard Hearted yet.

Quote
there are so few enhancements here.
Scribe and Abes Kid go along way here.

The funniest play of the game was my opponent trying to Grapes my last EC and reattack so I Herods Templed and played Just a Hireling just to kill myself and shuffle the LS.

This deck is solid, but this point is correct. It couldn't make it through my defense, but I did have to max out Herod's Temple in order to block.

Congrats on your win RTSmaniac.

I think a lot of you guys are underrating disciples. It usually only takes 2 or 3 battle winners to win the game.

p.s. what does NPE mean?

Faith as a Mustard Seed is nice. It is good against Judas and other protected ecs and it can be recurred by Matthew.

are you thinking of a different card? mustard seed of faith wont hit judas, and its luke so it cant be recurred by matthew.

NPE also actually means negative play experience.

FaaMS isn't good against Judas. It only targets Sites, enhancements, or non-human EC's.

Just to bring this post back alive again, it won  SE regionals in Orlando against a 100+ card type 1 deck. His opponent in that game had about 50 cards left in his deck, so it was not a quick win.
