Well, I paired up with Sauce for the first round. We were hoping to get a Holy of Holies from my Priest's pack, as that would effectively shut down another G deck with Red Dragon. And Arrested in Gethsemane. Sauce yelled at Bill for favoring me with the packs. I got the DoN from one of my Patriarchs back. I don't remember what all I traded for. Anyway.
Sauce got slaughtered. My defense was utterly beastly, and I quickly got to six, primarily using my white. All I had left was Purple, but I was just waiting on Son of God anyway. He plays Judas' Plot, and I draw Son of God soon after. Play it. Next battle I use Great Faith to shuffle it back, but it turned out, it wasn't needed. Despite Sauce not drawing Son of God, and me playing Falling Away on him, I believe he still got one soul, for a 7-1 victory. Favorite play was when he blocked with Sapphira and played Deceit when I had a guy with Lay Down Your Life in my territory.
Next round I was paired up with The M. He had an H deck as well, and got James and John up in the second(ish?) turn. I had tons of souls for him to rescue, and he only drew three for me. It was a quick defeat, 3(ish?)-7.
Belle Reuter (Wanderer's daughter) was my next opponent, as the only true RLG there, I was kind of worried, and I helped her build her deck. She had some nice cards in there, like Philly Garrison and Captain. That, combined with her G deck cards like Moses, would have posed quite a few problems for me. Luckily for me, she didn't get either of the drafted cards, and again, I was able to smash through with my offense. I don't remember the score, but she had less than 4, I believe.
Then I had to try BubbleBoy. He was playing an F deck, and I really wasn't sure how it could be effective. I got him to play Angel of the Lord against my Egyptian Charioteer (I think, might have been Horsemen or Pharaoh...), in an attempt to beat my two Egyptian Wisemen, but that failed, and I then shut him down with Emperor Claudias most of the rest of the game. This time, I primarily used my purple, and James and John were absolute beasts. He finally got Abishai, his only(?) O.T. hero, and got a soul, but I was able to play Enslaved by Egypt to get rid of him. Son of God managed to elude me this game as well, but again, it didn't matter. 7-1. Lay Down Your Life again got me a soul, avoiding a Lydia.
At this point, we had to decide if we wanted to play a fifth round. There were a few of us with a 3-1 record, and so we decided to go for it. I had Alex Olijar.
I really wasn't worried about this game. He was playing with the E deck, and I knew he had eight sites, but I had my egypt sites that could gain access to his Tree of Knowledge x2, and Kir sites. What I didn't expect was for him to have a Jacob's Dream. After he stole one of the sites, I was still okay, but I forgot about Jubilee and somewhat foolishly gave him inish. He then stole my last Egypt and I was locked. He had 10 sites, with Son of God and Burial, which would leave me with two to rescue, however, he captured one of my heroes, and I had the hopper, so I was able to get to 5. I just had to be sure to be able to completely fend him off defensively. Dathan and Abiram for MVP. They had seven counters on each. He grabbed The Fourth Seal from his discard pile with his other Jubilee, and rescued next time hoping to have enough numbers. I had Self Doubt and it was over. 5-1(?), stalemate.
Jordan won, as he had an actual win. Final record was 4-1, with one of those being the stalemate.
