Point of this deck is to win in under ten minutes pretty much. Defense gets out the dominants for early stops then plays Balaam's Disobedience until I win or I use my Writs. Offense wins before they even set up and I walk inbefore Darius' Decree comes out.
-
I think you need Captured Ark (or other Artifact killer, Strange Fire might be good for Sabbath Breaker since he's dieing anyway) for Darius' Decree. If your opponent gets it early then you're reliant on having DoN. By the time you have it, a second DD will likely have been drawn.
You also won't win vs. an Egyptian defense unless they have all of their Throne Rooms and Banks/Court at the bottom of their deck.
-
I would like to play an Egyptian defense. They are the slowest and take the longest to get going, I will ignore them and play SoG/NJ before they even think about Throne Room. I do need Captured Ark;s but I do not own any. Maybe I will toss in Lying Unto Godx1 and Men as Godsx1.

I strongly disagree that you want to play Egyptians with this deck. The following is what my Egyptian Defense would look like and I'm confident you'd have a very hard time getting past it with a Genesis offense.
Jannes x3
Jambres x3
Pharaoh's Magicians x3
Queen x2
King Shishak x2
King So x2
Egyptian Archers x5
Egyptian Chariot and Horses x3
Wonders Forgotten x4
Enslaved by Egypt x4
Rizpah's Sackcloth x4
Magic Charms x3
Given Over to Egypt x3
Pharaoh's Throne Room x3
Banks of the Nile/Pharaoh's Court x2
Anti-Ignore LS x2

I can personally say that BigTimeTyler S has faced many nasty egyptian defences and lost one game at NATS last year
-
Yeah - To your deck ;)

Yeah - To your deck ;)
He totally schooled the n00b playing Clift's deck. It was Kirk he lost to.
-
Right, I should have known that... I was sitting right next to him for both those games...
-
That was you? I thought it was the koala...

I like this Defense. I think I have a great offense to go with it... *cooks up some devious plan*
Seriously, this is a great Defense, especially with a few more egypt sites and m aybe switch out some of the rizpas sackcloths for evil spirit...
-
I'm sorry, But Journey to Egypt anyone? It's a gained ability and thus gets around all of the anti-ignore stuff. I love it when I play my Genesis O against Egyptian D's.

Heck one card. name any defense and I can give you one card that undoes it. The thing is that there are ways around Journey to Egypt. Side battles and capture your opponents Journeyed guy. Plus there are several genesis decks that do NOT use Journey to egypt, or if they do, it plays only a nominal role in their decks and may even fall victim to the massive deck discarding that this defense does. In a multiplayer deck, this defense is even more brutal because I can kill a journeyed character while I am fighting someone else...
So Journey Shmourney RDT

Exactly, the trick is to find a way to efficiently combine all of them into one deck. I think Blue/Genesis is one of the best all around brigades for that.

But who is gonna get it out first? Genesis will win every time when luck is not involved.
The thing is that there are ways around Journey to Egypt. Side battles and capture your opponents Journeyed guy.
So how are you gonna start your side battle? On your offensive side? Now you need your heroes, you side battle card, evil characters and your capture enhancement. Good luck.
In a multiplayer deck, this defense is even more brutal because I can kill a journeyed character while I am fighting someone else...
In a multiplayer game I attack the person who I can ignore.
So Journey Shmourney RDT

I don't like this at all really. One Holy Grail on 2 uniques and you only have Magicians, Archers and a couple no initiative lame ducks. And who does the chariot and horses go on? Only 4 of your characters can actually use it. I would use more unique guys that are WC.
-
I agree, more wc guys are needed... I have found that the charioteer is helpful. if you have a horse on him, you are allowed to play an enhancement that pretty much cant be stopped because you are preventing the next enhancement that your opponent plays:) and, correct me if im wrong, but since journy to egypt is a gained ability of a hero, wouldnt the second half of pharoah's throne room stop the ignoring?
-
Discussions about counters to counters remind me of the old board discussions.
-
but since journy to egypt is a gained ability of a hero, wouldnt the second half of pharoah's throne room stop the ignoring?
Journey to Egypt is a Cannot Be Negated gained special ability. The second half of Pharoah's TR is a negate, which is powerless to stop of CBN.
