I would one day like to try T2. I know some other TCGs happen to (maybe they even did it on purpose,) make the starters in a way where if you bought 4 of them, you had a decks worth of cards.
I know that could be a little trickier with Redemption. I almost did it with the Ruth starters. It could be a simple way for people to get into T2.
Any suggestions to at least make a deck (whether competitive or not).
Or if anyone did anything similar with starter decks combined to a T2?

Or at least 2 starters that could be combined to make one. Like putting Deck I and J (as an example) together to make a T2 deck. That would be amazing.

I'm not sure if the threads are still around, but I know there's been several contests/challenges over the years for people to create a competitive T2 deck on a given budget. You might be able to dig one of those up, or maybe I can post one later this week.

Well, I must say after flipping through a lot of the decks that have been higher ranked, I was kind of imagining something different. I was thinking a lot of people were playing with 4 copies of more cards.
I guess with all the recent releases with so many multi brigades that was just an illusion from a while back.
There is a tournament coming up (in Iowa) and I hope to make my first T2 appear there (and get beaten bad to learn a lesson in deck building ;D )

That is definitely how things used to be. However, in today's game it is often more important to have an offense and defense that are more versatile than just having 4 copies of a couple enhancements. Having a good mix of draw/search, various battle winners and negates is often the better choice. A lot of it really depends on the type of deck you are running.

That definitely makes things easier to approach than I thought. Especially since it looks like a fourth of the deck is often Lost Souls, Artifact and other Neutrals (depending on strategy).
I'm working on a list now.

what was the general budget? I'd like to have a crack at it and have some free time.

I don't recall and I can't find the threads, but it would probably be much different today anyway. Many card prices have gone down but some of the newer cards are still pretty pricey (Dull LS for example).
Perhaps if I get a chance, I'll price out one of my current decks and see what it would be to buy the whole things straight from TLG.
