Genesis/Sitelock

So this is my newest version of sitelock. The Genesis offense seems to go better than the previous Judges offense did with the sitelock theme. Feel free to post any comments, questions, suggestions or concerns.

I thought about putting in 2k horses, but couldn't find room. I usually only block with ASA in order to take out my opponent's access sites, arts or forts.

No Writs?

Not with a sitelock defense. I try to avoid capture, as it just generates more lost souls that I have to find sites to put them in.

What are your reasons for adding magicians? I don't see how they are an improvement. Phillys have Goliath who can kick site access characters out of battle and land dispute to steal my opponent's sites. Phillys are also easily recurrable and give me another color to help against reubens torn clothes.

the only possible benefit of Magicians that I can think of is using Balaam to recur your curses. Achan's Sin maybe to take out their access site? Maybe not because it's not CBN.

Yeah in theory AS is the way to go but every good type 2 offense will have cbn negates so I think if you wanna get the most bang for your buck Goliath and his philly friends are the way to go. I mean there is so much he can stop that would otherwise counter this deck. For example he can block return Isaiah (while holding call) and Angel With a Secret Name exchanged for Samson, not to mention like Adotson said any site access character.

As for the offense I think you would be better off with Judges as they would help you get your sites out quickly with their speed. You would also have access to Protection of Jerusalem which takes care of ASA. Just something to consider.

I agree that Achan's Sin is good, but is just too easy to interrupt. I liked the Judges offense I had, but found the offensive drawing to be detrimental to my defensive strategy. If I draw a lost soul while attacking I am unable to put it in a site. Genesis can be fast without having to rely on drawing. I'm just trying to avoid drawing during my offensive battle phase.

You know you're a T2 player when...

I think your greatest issue will be site access characters.  Goliath's nice, but what happens in the case of CP/Naz?  You'll have to pass inish with ASA twice, or go with a less comfortable option.

Prof Alstad  ran a disciples offense with creepers last year and didn't seem to have a problem with drawing souls in battle. Also the main judges draw cards are all say "may" so you wouldn't have to draw. So that way you can speed through your deck until you have enough sites then stop.

Site access characters are a problem, but hopefully I have enough counters to stop them. I have Goliath, CwD x2 and DoU/Forgotten History. CP/Naz could be a problem, but they are vulnerable to ASA while in battle and Joseph before Pharaoh can put CP under deck if need be.

I do agree that Judges are strong and am not completely sold on Genesis yet, but I have not playtested it yet so it is hard to say. Anyone else have any opinions on which offense is best or any cards to add/cut?

I don't think this is a sitelock by any means. You have 2 Land Disputes to take out sites, unless you are going to use Confusions for that too. This is a site stall. I'd either go more sitelock, or make the defense one color and go sitestall.

ASA should take care of business.

And how is that? He has no 2k to back him up. And doesn't ASA take out a single color site...?

ASA really hurts the deck more than it helps it. And Hiatus is right about siege armies text.

You're right. I built something similar to playtest and played it in a few casual rts games, it never really locked anyone out. I found that siege armies hurt the deck too much and the offense was to slow.

If only there was an easier way to make Achan's Sin CBN than Asherah Pole.

This was basically just a rough sketch. I haven't gotten around to tweaking it yet. I did play one game with it and decided I liked the original Judges offense better so I will be going back to that. I will definately be adding in a couple more land disputes and probably something to take care of foreign sword. I will be putting in 2 Nazareths and want to try to work in a couple 2k horses also. Will probably be switching some of the silver sites over to white ones also.

Just because Achan's Sin is not CBN, does not mean it should not go into a site deck. I'd rather have Achan's Sin x2 over Confusion x2. Definitely fit 2k horses. But what I don't get is why you wouldn't have A's Sin when you uses ASA/Sites and have no 2k horses!?!?! I do not see this defense holding up even it a competitive district. If Goliath gets captured, or converted their goes half your defense. You have 4 12/12's that ask for a sore backside, 3 bander's, and 3 2/2's for init. Not even a banding deck, but some sort of band would kill you. Silver/Gold bands, Silver/Green bands, SIlver/Blue bands, and every mono brigade out there in the current meta has good bands. I'd at least add another Goliath. Definitely add more options to the defense. You have 10 PG EC's. Subtract 4 from DoU-that's 6 EC's left. If they block you as many times as you DoU for blocks, you lose due to not having enough EC's for options. The defense has potential, just give it more options and don't try to do too much.
Dominants
Burial
CM
Falling Away
Mayhem
DoN

Forts
Kingdoms of the World
Assyrian Camp
Philly Outpost

Curses
Rain Becomes Dust- Good card, but not good enough compared to your other curses/arts. Out for another Goliath
Cov. w/ Death x2
Captured Ark x2- Out for 2 2k Horses

Evil Characters
Assyrian Siege Army x4
Assyrian Survivor x3
Assyrian Archer x3
Philly Armorbearer x3
Goliath

Enhancements
Confusion x2- Out for 2 A's Sin
Forgotten History x3
DoU x4
Land Dispute x2
That's a start just from switching defensive cards. I would still go further to max out Forgotten, and add another 2k.

Achan's sin is also nice if you play it against a protected character. Balaam could be a good add too, seeing as how he can recur CWD.
