Does this ever work for Type 2?

Hi all,

I have my first Type 2 tournament coming up the end of this month, and it seems clear that I will not be able to trade for the duplicate cards I would like.

Is it possible to take my favorite 2 single color offenses and my favorite 2 single color defenses from my Type 1 decks and combine them into one Type 2 deck?  Or is that a really bad idea?  I prefer to use single color decks, but I'm just not going to have the duplicates that I would like.  I have 3 or more of certain Staple cards like Captured Ark, Unholy Writ, Chariot of Fire, etc, but not characters and enhancements.

If I did combine two single color offenses and defenses, which ones work the best together, in your opinion?

Thanks for the advice!

It's legal to do that.  Many of the BTN and banding decks use just one of each character, such as red banding or silver BTN/recursion.  Using Chariot or Chamber will help your good characters last.

Evil is harder without duplicates, since you need to get it going again if your opponent kills something off.  Site lockout might be useful, or just choose two brigades that interact well (ie, black and gray, orange and pale green) and use everything each brigade offers.  For instance, Philistines have nice recursion, which allows you to discard a junk card for a useful character.  Pharasees/Saduccees allow for pretty nice recursion as well, and make their brigades work together.  Emperors can use multiple brigades.  It seems plausible.
