Let's do this again! I sent an email to all of last years members but if you are new and want to join follow the link below and enter the password "redemption" no caps. Totally free but make sure you fill out your bracket by Thursdays start time.

We should atleast be fair about this.... If you don't win I think it is only fair you come to the type 2 only ::) I know March madness ends the next week but you have plenty of time to be mathematically eliminated ;)

Question: I switched my finals pick from Duke to Virginia earlier this morning, but forgot to click save. I am happy to settle for Duke if folks want me to, but would prefer to switch to Virginia if everyone would be willing to pretends my Duke is Virginia.
Let me know what you all think by end of today (Duke and Virginia play tomorrow).

You're better off keeping Duke over Virginia anyway... Tourny is always won by offense, not defense. Kinda like Redemption. ;)

Since I only heard 2 affirmatives out of the other members of the pool, I'll stick with my bracket as written.
You're better off keeping Duke over Virginia anyway...
Yeah I know that. My reason for wanting to change was to relive the fun (<= definitely not the right word) of last year when I had Virginia winning it all. ;) It also hurts my spirit every time I think about cheering for Duke.
Tourny is always won by offense, not defense. Kinda like Redemption. ;)
I acknowledge the truth of the Redemption comment, but it also hurts my spririt. :o

I am totally fine with you going with Virginia instead of Duke. I was attending UMD in 01/02 when Terps won so I totally am with you on cheering for Duke. However, Duke's best player is named Zion so I figure they are the chosen city this year.

Wow, the guy actually picked the UC Irvine upset as well and is currently listed at the top of the Yahoo standings (though technically tied with lots of other people). ;D
If you go to the overall leaders, his bracket name is BBallin'.

I had a post all prepared about how the best way to win was to have three of your selected teams in the final four. Then today happened.
Honestly, going into today's games I was hoping UK would win and Duke would lose so that Silenced Matrix and I could meet mano a mano in the UK-Virginia game. Winner take all.
Silenced Matrix, I will make you a deal. If Virginia loses and we end up tied you can have the packs, and we can work together to come up with a suitable avatar and tag line for the Hobbit.

Would Em be tied if he had got to pick VA? I just noticed what he said. If that's the case I'm willing to roll a dice to see who the champion would have been unless I would have won regardless.

We would have tied if I had switched to VA, but I didn't switch to VA. :( (We also would have tied if college refs understood what constitutes a double dribble or if VA didn't have a cold-blooded free throw shooting machine at the line at the end, but the refs didn't and VA did.)
Way too late to make a change at the end of the tourney, however. Even changing after the first game started was really pushing the envelope, which is why I think it was best (and was perfectly content) to stick with my bracket as submitted.
Seriously, congratulations on the win. Enjoy the cards and think of something really funny for the Hobbit's signature and profile pic.
