Stopping Stars

So, during draws at the beginning of the game and each turn, when you draw a star card you may reveal it and activate its effect. Unless the card has a clause that it goes somewhere else, it then returns to your hand.

How does this interact with negations/restrictions?

Say that I draw Hosea, A Royal Priesthood, and His Name at the beginning of my turn. I want to activate all their star abilities, and have a Temple in my main deck. What happens if...

A. My opponent has Moses (CoW) in territory? Are all of these negated?
B. My opponent has Covenant with Death up? Am I restricted from using His Name and Royal Priesthood, and Hosea negated?
C. My opponent has Hezekiah's Signet Ring active? Am I restricted from searching my deck for a Temple with Royal Priesthood?

I suppose the easier way to put this is, are star cards subject to effects from play when the star abilities are activated?
ANB is good. Change my mind.

Moses negates enhancements in territories.  Star cards are in your hand.  Moses doesn't negate them.

CWD restricts players from playing enhancements unless a character is opposed in battle.  Activating a Star ability is not playing the enhancement, as I understand the definition of Play.  CWD doesn't stop them (now - maybe this changes).

HSR restricts players from searching.  This definitely stops Star search abilities, unless they are searching Reserve.

My understanding is since negate defaults to play, a card like CwD or CoW Moses would not prevent * cards from using their * abilities. Restrict abilities (such as HSR) could stop a player from using a * ability however.

EDIT--Josh beat me... :P

We could always make a LS that says "Negate * abilities".

Seems like that should be UR.  ;)
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Moses negates enhancements in territories.  Star cards are in your hand.  Moses doesn't negate them.

Targeting Stars alone doesn't seem particularly useful, especially if, like clouds, we only see a few in future sets. Negating a hand, though.... that has potential to be interesting. Maybe "Prevent all cards in an opponent's hand"? Cards that are played directly from hand (enhancements, blocking with an EC from hand/banding to a character in hand, etc.) are prevented, as well as Star cards. Maybe a limited-use art or something instead of a soul, but it's an idea...

The problem with a "Prevent cards in a hand" ability is that it will only prevent abilities that actually activate in that hand.  Which is really hard to do - pretty much only Star abilities right now.

Once an enhancement leaves the hand and enters battle, it tries to activate, and will do so, since it's not being prevented.

EDIT:  I might be wrong about this.  I need to marinate on this a bit more  :P
