I know that TC characters' abilities reactivate when they enter battle. Does the same happen when they leave battle at the end of the phase?

I'm asking particularly in regard to Overtaken. If a TC EC enters battle while Overtaken is active (and a CBN hero is in battle), will the EC still be CBN when they return to territory?

TC class characters in battle deactivate as characters in battle as part of the battle phase and reactivate in territory as TC characters after the battle phase, so unless I misunderstand how Overtaken functions they would not be affected by Overtaken when they reactivate in territory.
