Just want to confirm that the New Tongues errata actually let's the Hero rescue the lost soul upon entering battle:

New Tongues (Apostles) - Set aside a male Hero for 1 turn. On return, that Hero gains the ability “Hero may rescue the Jeremiah 7:18 Lost Soul regardless of its protect ability."

The ability Rescue from the reg:

Last Updated: 5/15/2017 (v4.1.1)
Released: 3/4/2014
How to Play
● A rescue effect takes a card from play and moves it to a player’s Land of Redemption, where it becomes a Redeemed Soul.
● A rescue effect targets the card that is rescued.
● Rescue effects only target Lost Souls and humans.
● Lost Souls targeted for rescue
● All rescue effects are instant.

New Tongues isn't supposed to have an errata, but a Play As (which is more accurate but more complicated), according to the ORCID.

No. The Play As in the ORCID is:
Set aside a male Hero for one turn. On return, that Hero gains the ability “While in battle or following a mutual destruction this Hero was involved in, if a Lost Soul would be rescued by a Hero, the Jeremiah 7:18 (“Female Only”) Lost Soul may be rescued instead, regardless of its protect ability.”

To my knowledge, it was there prior to the update and should have been removed, like Brass Serpent and Elders.

This is hilarious. Definitely has to be fixed because swapping a lost soul and coming into battle for an auto rescue isn't good.
