Malachi attacks and topdecks a STAR card from discard pile (say, First Sacrifice). Then the attacker adds Ends to battle and takes the topdecked GE. Since Ends is CBI, if the opponent blocks and negates Malachi, the taken Enhancement would stay in hand, right?

Correct.

Agree with Watchman.
However, if you play First Sacrifice in battle, the opponent could theoretically negate Malachi to negate First Sacrifice, which would stay in battle. (This is using the Cascade Negate logic for D3/Play enhancements.)

Thanks.

Btw, any word on when cascade negates will be officially eliminated? That would be swell.
