Hi again,

just wondering if the DC part of King Jehu's SA might be optional?

It states: You may exchange Jehu with a non-royal human of matching alignment in territory to discard an eval royal human.

Can I have the exchange without the DC part if for example opponent does not have any eval royal human in play but maybe I do (like King Saul, King Abijam, ...)?

Thanks for a short clarification!

Bye

If it was and rather than to, both would be individual choices but since they are tied by a to you must do both.

That said, if nobody has evil humans in play, you can still exchange - you do as much as you can but the discard fizzles when it can't find a target.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

Ok, but this also means: If I am the only one who has an eval human royal in play I have to DC it when I do the exchange. Am I right here? So I would have to harm myself?

Correct. If there is a valid target, you must carry out the ability (even if it means killing your own EC). That said, the exchange is optional, so if you leave Jehu in battle you won't have to discard.

Thank you.

But this unfortunatly makes him much more useless with all the other DAC having royality and brown brigade and IMHO! Exchanging him with Doeg for example while having eval King Saul in play while having a weapon on him which would trigger the uses-part (see my "uses" thread in REG subforum here) would be really nice!!!

You still can, as long as there's another valid target ;)

Actually, that raises an interesting question: can Jehu discard himself? The discard doesn't happen until after the exchange, by which time he's back in territory...

Yes.  Seems pretty straightforward.

Also had this in mind already but ruled it out since thought his entire SA has to complete before his new location is manifested.

@Bobbert:
Besides obvious targets and maybe even converted ones - do you have others in mind here?  :)

The thing that makes it easy to prove that Jehu is a legal target for his own "discard a royal EC" ability is that his exchange/discard ability is cost-benefit - meaning, the exchange fully completes before the discard does, and therefore Jehu is in territory when he discards an evil royal.
