I remember at one point the guideline for converted Evil Characters was that "inherently evil" abilities don't carry over. That said, that's pretty nebulous. Right now, the REG entry for convert says:
Quote
"Abilities on Evil Characters (and evil weapons) that have been converted to Heroes (and good weapons) may
activate, except for abilities that specifically target Heroes when the card is at face value."

Does this mean that abilities that benefit evil but don't target heroes do convert? The case in my mind is Egyptian Magicians.
Spoiler: Egyptian Magicians (hover to show)

This ability doesn't target heroes. Does this mean a converted EM gets to use his ability when he attacks? If he reveals an EC, can he add it to battle, effectively as a CTB?
ANB is good. Change my mind.

I agree that the EC convert rules could use polishing so it was more clear, but Im guessing that it's a very complex issue.
From a "theology" standpoint, the idea of something "Evil" (opposing God's law) converting to be something good (in alignment with God's law) is that the now Good character wouldnt harm another good thing like it was before. I dont know if the solution would be to say "If the converted Evil Character's special ability benefits Evil cards they dont get converted" (something like this, I think this is where the REG was trying to take us)

In your example, If in fact this ability would convert, I would think that if you added an EC to the battle from the Converted Magician, the new EC would be added to the evil side of the battle (similar to banding or other cards that add characters) and thus fighting against you. There are other cards that force opposite alignment cards into battle, which of course do not put them on the wrong side of the battle.

Add to battle abilities always add to your side of the battle, unless they specify they are choose the blocker/rescuer abilities.  in this case you would have to add to hand and draw since you cant band an EC to a hero

You are correct. The cards I were thinking of specifically allow a player to do that.

you cannot add to a side you dont control and it must be the same alignment.

Correct. The same would be true for Nebuchanezzar.

Nebuchadnezzar is a Daniel character anyway ;)
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I remember making a ruling thread years ago where I asked what happens if I attack with a converted-to-Green Egyptian Magicians, reveal Forest Fire, and I have a Babylonian in play.  It was ruled that FF can be added to battle.

Found it.

Right...  ;D Contrary to what Gabe may (jokingly) claim, that clause was not added by me, but actually by Bryon... ::)

I was in favor of toning down Nebby (who originally had no such clause at all), but I believe my suggestion was "CBN unless a Daniel Hero is in play."  :P

That would have made Nebby better in a Daniel Deck built around Foretelling Angel.
