Title: Can I still use Grapes when my last Hero in battle was just captured?

Hi there,

subject says it all and is also valid for other activities which remove my last hero from battle (withdraw, topdeck, set aside, discard, ...): Can I still use Grapes to start a new battle phase then?

If there's still an evil card in battle to target, then absolutely.

But doesn't battle end automatically if my last hero has been removed by any effect? Or do I still have dom ini before?

There are only two things that cause the battle phase to end:

A. Someone plays and End the Battle ability.

B. Both players agree to move to the next phase.

There are no such requirements as having a character in battle to continue the battle phase. Otherwise battle extenders like Faith of David and Gates of Hell wouldn't work.
