COMMENTS:  First time doing demos at this predominantly MTG-gamer-attended store. First demo here played with none other than the store owner. We are now officially going to be undermanned if we start doing weekly demos at this venue as well. Thanks to Travis M. for helping out. God is good!

COMMENTS: Slow night. But we keep on waiting. There always is at  least one or two new persons who will want to learn. And it happened. At around 9:15pm I sat down to teach the game then a couple more hovered around. I declare they will want to learn the game soon as well...very very soon!

COMMENTS: While players from San Antonio, Houston/Tomball, and Dallas were playing Booster Draft, 4 new people came to learn the game, two were daughters of the South Central Royal Rangers regional director. One is a gentleman who teaches Pokemon to new players. Earlier, a new player taught his brother how to play the game. They also both joined Booster Draft. The whole experience tonight was overwhelming and rewarding. God is good!

COMMENTS: One new player at a time, taught simply and well. That is the key to it all. Perhaps one out of each ten will go full time with the game. But planting the seed is all 'The Force' needs us to do. FYI, few minutes after posting this, a new player just sat down at the demo area wanting learn. God is good.

VENUE ADDRESS: 4923 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78229
ATTENDANCE BRIEF: 12 viewers, 4 demos.
COMMENTS: Slow night. Demo team members had a well-deserved rest from the two gruelling days last weekend. But all quiet nights have thus far always been God's way of offering a joyful surprise. True enough, an expert YGO player who has not been to the gaming store since we started doing demos was there to visit his nationally-ranked friends. Then with a big smile he approached me after seeing the cards saying he finally can fulfill his dream to learn a card game he had been longing for to learn since he was just in middle school. Now 26, this young man was so happy to finally get to learn Redemption. 13 years ago his mom gave him a couple of Redemption booster packs. He had no starter deck and no one to teach him the game. Last night's encounter was even all the more highlighted by the comeback of a new player who had learned the game a couple of months ago and had just returned tonight to play YGO. That other young man sat down and taught Redemption to this new Godsend player who wants to learn and master the game. This newest player added that this (Redemption) was the game he had long been waiting for to play. He has plans to have his own gaming store soon. Can you guess what may well be the main CCG he might feature at his future store? God is so good!!!

Nationally-ranked veteran YGO player (right) gives YGO deck tips to this new YGO player in exchange for teaching him Redemption.

COMMENTS: This is at the 1st ACTS Missions Christmas in July event. Huge thanks to Travis M. for helping teach as always. We taught an 8 year old who may well be a future protege. He is also in his school's honor roll. He had also taught the game to an older schoolmate who visited the show. He has fallen in love with the game. His grandma has secretly arranged with me to support his Redemption gaming needs until he can do it himself. God has once again shown his favor!

COMMENTS:
This is right in the middle of Edge 18, an annual conference for the South TX Royal Rangers leadership.

Two miracles thus far. First is when a lady gets excited about the game who wants me to teach at her church back in San Antonio where several adults and youth are heavy into TCG gaming ie. MTG & YGO.

Next is a gentleman who is a leader at his church. He is a D&D, MTG, YGO, etc player. He learns the game easily. I have faith I have taught him starter deck play well and hope he purchases at least starters for his church's Royal Rangers.

Note the pic below with an Armor of God reference sheet I picked up from a room while I was grabbing my demo tables. ;D

The day has just begun. More amazing stories to come. Pray for my good health as I started feeling under the weather since last night.

UPDATE (Day 2)
God is good!

Quality fruits from this conference. A teenage Royal Ranger from Hawaii has just embraced the game and is determined to spread it there til he comes back to TX in a couple of years.

A couple more commanders have embraced the game and have already set me up to speak at their gatherings.

I declare so much Redemption fruits in TX in the next couple of months as the game players and collectors multiply!

Dario's 1st night demoing as a new TX citizen lol. Travis M also practiced a T1 game with him before heading out to see his D&D group. A player returning to MTG after a hiatus approached our demo area and has begun learning the game. As I have said before, there will ALWAYS be AT LEAST ONE new player learning the game. I encourage one and all playing OUR GAME to require ourselves to teach one player per month. That is all we need to plant Redemption seeds for The Lord of Harvests to reap more Redemption Jedi! ;)

Dario's amazing streak teaching the game to a new player even before demo time began. And it's just Dario's 2nd demo day at H&F. The new learner is already seasoned at playing MTG & YGO. Our minimum must teach at least one player per demo night has been met early on. God is good!

We used the night to organize our cards and tweak decks. Planning to start playing T1 games while awaiting new learners. Planning to have T1 official tourneys once a month. And as The Boss promises that a new learner will pop up for a demo each week, two YGO players approached our demo area and have committed to learn the game next Friday. God is good!

Yet another one of those 'cannot believe it' amazing nights. So, Juan (the guy we have mentioned previously who after 13 years or so looking for someone to teach him Redemption after his teacher gifted him with a few foil packs for Christmas when he was in 8th grade, gets reunited with the game to learn it formally) comes tonight to come back to visit our demo table while he also preps for YGO regional tomorrow. Then shortly afterwards, a young man approaches us. I ask if he wants to learn the game. He says he already knew how to play it. Apparently he was huge at playing the game with his friends when he was just around 8 years old. So.....after 13 years not playing as no one was available to teach more game mechanics, he gets reunited with a game he always loved to play. Aaron turns 22 this year. I strongly believe that this return player is a force to reckon with as he plans to get back to the game. Aaron is also here for the weekend for YGO regionals.

GOD IS GOOD!

Aaron with me and Travis M.

Travis M with Hagrid...oops...I meant Dario.

We have been playing at the local college (Lone Star College) at a table the library has specifically set up for games right by the front entrance. Really awesome that God has provided such a venue. We have already gotten a new player who has continued to reach out to schedule times to play. His name is Grayson and he is connected to a local gaming store (Space Cadet Collectibles) and runs D&D campaigns there. He is a fellow believer and has seemed to really latch onto the game. Please be praying for our connection and future opportunities there on the college campus. Grace and Peace!

Overwhelming! I am out of words. Between Marcus, Joe, and Dario teaching people how to teach the game, and me happily stuck at the intro/product booth, I cannot express better how God has been good. Small kids, teens, dads, even grandparents partaking of Redemption's amazing blessings. We could not even begin the tournament yet except for Joe and Marcus finally doing T2 2P.  Absolutely exhausting and joyful day. God is good!
