PA Group Hope you are up for growing pains this season!!!!

I am excited to announce that I will be returning to the Redemption community after a 5 year hiatus from the game. I would like to thank the community for it maturity and growth after my departure and resolving many of the concerns I had about the game. To the play test group thank you for giving me a starter deck I am excited about teaching with again.  :)  With that being said I will be getting involved with the church's children's program and have been in contact with some older players that may also look at a return to the game! I am going to need support in teaching the game and getting back up to speed, but we have a very solid group of leaders some of whom I am excited to learn more about that filled the gap while I was gone.

I do have a few questions?

I keep seeing this "AUTO" what is this?
What is the online program we run on now?
Do we have a card list that includes all cards and bible verse?

Wonderful to have you back!

This is AUTO.

Online play is done through Lackey.

In a couple weeks I can share an excel sheet that has all the card data (including the new set) except the artist info.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Thanks that is awesome. It will be much faster for me to see theme decks with being able to sort by bible verse! I am really enjoying how themes are getting to be more rewarding, it also encourages you to take a closer look at the bible story and sometimes revisit something you never paid much mind before.  :)

Yes, AUTO. Released 4 (or 5 now?) years ago and still the source of most card banning discussions.

And FYI, Lackey is many times better than RTS.

This is great timing for you to come back because Jerome and I are will be out of the area for the foreseeable future. Your addition will really help hold the area together!

So does this mean you will join PAMDA (Pennsylvania-Maryland Alliance)?  We are losing one of our bigger PA members for awhile after this season, but given our proximity the two playgroups usually end up going to all of the same tournaments.  MD will be working on creating/growing more playgroups as well this coming season, so hopefully we have a more robust alliance on the way!

No one in particular.  I'm working on trying to start 1-2 playgroups up myself, but I've not made much headway.  More info to come next season.  Other players just bring people in as they can, we all teach those we find.

I have seriously been considering expanding the DPA (Delmarva Peninsula Alliance).  If I can get just one more person to join, I can double the membership.    :)

And the girl and the new kid that were at the tournament, are from my area (girl) and the kid (from my former county....Schuylkill).  so I will try and acquire them for my playgroup to make our current 3 player group to 5.

I have a group that meets regularly for game nights (all kinds of games, got a few of them playing Redemption, hoping to bring more into the fold), but we're kind of not centrally located to any other PAMDA groups.  And by kind of not centrally located, I mean I live close to 4 hours away from York County  ;D

I do make every effort to get over that way for tournaments, even locals.  I'd love to see a regular schedule get set up out there!

If we all work to grow our pockets inside the alliance then we will show great improvement in attendance to our tournaments. I think it would be good to discuss healthy growth strategies and help each other. I also belive we should purposfully pray about God's blessing on our area and how we can impact the gaming community around us.

There are a couple articles up on Land of Redemption that talk about growing a play group. We also have an article coming at some point from one of the longest running, most successful, play group leaders ever.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Gabe,

That's great I'll take a look at those this weekend and compare note from what worked for me before I took my hiatus.

I can definitely agree with what is in the articles. It was a great refresher. How are we with the location and availability of Hanover? I think I can eventually have something in york, but wouldn't mind starting in Hanover if that is not too much trouble for you guys.

As far as I'm aware, we should still have NHM available to us.  Should also have access to the church we've used in the past.

I'll be in the area September 12, are people interested in a tournament then to kick off the new season?

The 12th sounds good to me. Let me know for sure cause I'll have to put in to get off.

That should work for me as well. I would also suggest doing sealed deck as a category if I start bringing new players that is the easiest to have retention with.

At this point, the upstate NY branch of PAMDA would most likely be available for a tournament that day. (Though, the playgroup that is in the works up here would not be up and running at that point.)
