Ultra rare dominants

Due to the extremely low pull rate and availability of recent dominant ultra Rares,  I suggest another option. Reprint the dominant ultra Rares as Rares or even as starter deck cards but without some of the abilities that the ultra rare version has such as the ultra rare the False Prophet being reprinted as a less powerful rare. For example reprint the Second Coming but without the ability to search deck for a good dominant. And reprint the Three Woes with just the negate the last enhancement ability but not with the territory class negate ability. This would make these cards more affordable and available for kids and people with lower incomes. Also the ultra rare version would still be a more powerful, viable and collectible option. Would appreciate some opinions on this idea. Thanks.

Printing two versions of a card but making one a strict upgrade but much rarer is not a healthy business practice for a card game. RoJ False Prophet isn't supposed to be unless powerful because he's only a rare. He has a different ability not a strictly worse one.

I agree that printing URs that are practically auto-includes makes the game less accessible but I strongly hope that isn't going to be a consistent thing. I hope to see more URs in future sets like Michael and Red Dragon who are powerful and iconic cards but not required for every deck if you want to be competitive.

TSC isn't required to be competitive. Any player can get NJ and be on fairly equal footing, especially with the right deck build.

Three Woes is the hot new chase card. I think it's too early to tell if it's required to be competitive. IIRC a few years ago Shipwreck was the hot chase card that everyone thought they must have. While it is a quality card and hasn't come down in price I don't think many people will argue that it's required to be competitive.

Back on topic, when we print a new starter deck (which isn't likely to happen soon) I could see including some new Dominants that function similar to what you describe.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

I could see a Three Woes that only stays in play for 3 turns and negates something for a turn. Or a new DoN with proper wording and maybe something to make it more interesting.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

2nd coming is decidedly better than NJ.

However, I think that having extremely powerful UR's play into particular decks is a much better idea than making them dominates or cards that fit into all decks.. Michael and Red Dragon are great examples.

That being said my favorite UR is definitely Holy Grail. I loved chasing that reprint  ::)
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Although I dont think there's a real difference in how the old and new Holy Grail's work...

I agree that with the dominant cap theres alot of options for dominant choices and more will be added in the future so just a some doms are auto include. Thanks for the opinions everybody. NJ dominant is still a good option. I look forward to new starter decks but the last two sets have been so superb I would like to see another one like those first. Maybe one with some boosters to all brigades. Would love to see more character ulra rares like Michael and Red Dragon. Collectibility has increased which is great for Redemption. There's nothing like pulling a really powerful ultra rare. I saw TSC pulled from two packs as a local tournament prize. Fun and fellowship is what always make this tcg the best! The future of Redemption looks bright.
