Now that the set has been fully previewed, let's discuss! Favorite card(s), strongest card(s), new offensive and defensive meta, etc!

I'll start out with saying I'm expecting the Canaanite defense to be extremely strong. LOTS of "shenanigans"!

What do you guys think will be the best new offense?

I think ruth has a shot to do well this year. They may not have the strongest cards, but they are fast and impossible to get rid of. Blue genesis with canaanites is looking pretty good too, lots of fun things there. And red warriors are looking amazing! A dedicated idol defense also seems to finally be viable, so maybe that will be popular. My favorite card this year would have to be the new Wages of Sin, such a cool card, and so many fun things you can do with it!

Oh, and I completely forgot about Tab Priests! I'm not sure i'll be running them in t1 this year, but I will for sure in t2! I've been using priests in t2 for the last 2 years now, so it's great that they finally are getting some more support!

I think the new ruling that DAEs (with just one good brigade) can be used with The Throne of Grace makes Ruth (with Coliseum) even stronger. Between all the battle extenders, negates, and speed/recursion, I agree that the Ruth offense (with the right support) has huge potential this year.

I always struggle knowing what to pair with the 4 Heroes - Martyrs? Musicians? Females? Or just splash The Woman with Child etc

I really think that mixing them with judges is finally viable, with all the cool new white judges cards we got this year, and Lamenting in the mountains, which may be my second favorite card in this set.

It's really no secret now so I'll call it right here..

"Woman with Wages"

This has to be the most powerful FoM t1 archetype. Immediate and repeating access to all dominants. What is better than that? Honestly thinking that it is the next nats winner. So I'll make this public.. I strongly believe that ANB splashed with Hypocrisy Noah in Woman with Wages will be incredible.

ANB is currently every dom on every card in play plus Christ's Triumph after they had to burn a block. Setup decks can't really do much against it besides getting lucky. Following up ANB with Priests of Christ is either a soul or a dom. Everyone has told me ANB is not reliable splashed and isn't reliable much at all. I think it is every dom on every card in play and a new turn :-)

With early dom access to hard stop followed by mid game reset.. I'm thinking the only thing as consistent will be throne or some other speed centric offenses.

Other than that I'm super excited to play mill for fun.

So with the Women with Wages, I'm assuming you'll be running:

Son of God
The Second Coming
Angel of the Lord
A New Beginning
Christian Martyr
Rubble & Dust
Destruction of Nehushtan

With no FA? Would you run it larger with Shipwreck/Burial too to maximize Wages?

Hmmm so I am a bit confused...when you say "Immediate and repeating access to all dominants", Wages only searches out Martyr. Am I right to assume you'll be running other evil-dom searching cards like Worldly Wisdom?

Well there are different variants that can run burial, shipwreck is another one if anb is nerfed, all hard stops early game (r&d, martyr, burial) wages is best for more diverse purposes obviously but martyr is the first pick and in the most offensively streamlined version the only dom with dc (best evil dom besides fa womens)

Ok gotcha- Letter to the Hebrews can also search out FA (either version) and TSC

Throne is obviously another light speed option which now has Jehu and considerable red support.

Bravery is still one of the best battle winners alongside edict :-)

Totally!

It'll be interesting how the meta shapes up this year. I'm excited!  :)

So seems HSR and maybe even Nazareth will become more evident again?

Since they do not cover the reserve or since they do not stand against ANB? Also Arrest comes to mind again ...
And besides that - how is ANB reliably splashable into such a deck with Woman and Priests? Converting the disturbing ones?

There are so many ways to target arts and sites with either negate or removal. ANB is just another reason not to play those cards.

Bigger reason imo is opportunity. There are just better cards directly in relation to rescuing souls and winning the game that soft counters like naz and hsr don't hold up. Is that a bad thing? Not really, in my opinion.

On top of that there are more ways to get to great cards than there are to get to naz or hsr. This lowers your consistency in terms of how long they will hold up or if they have an impact in your game at all.

That's true - also Arrest does not stand Woes. Maybe Serpent or other cards restricting opponent from playing good Doms might be helpful here.
But how shall ANB work with Woman and Priests and maybe other undercutting cards? Converting them might be one option - or getting rid of them and recurring / getting back from reserve afterwards when needed again...

If you're talking about splashing ANB into Woman with Wages it was already nerfed, with good reason lol.

Rubble & Dust can effectively be played instead. Noah ANB in Woman with Wages is kind of win more.

Pretty sure the days of Watchful Servant winning are over, for now.. Not sure defense heavy is going to stand a chance even though it is critically more enabled now than ever. Arrest in Gethsemane would not be part of this win condition. Discarding all of their heroes would be- see Wages.
