Title: Extra ultra-rare AB cards in a box (talking PoC)
Post by: SiLeNcEd_MaTrIx on January 25, 2019, 08:31:34 AM
I love the idea of an extra ultra-rare in the box to give more incentive to buying them.  But I think throwing the alternate border is a bad idea.  This has caused the price to drop and essentially the non-AB are more scarce than the actual AB.  I think for future sets where this might happen (other than adding a new AB like shipwreck) we should include the non-AB version.  This still is an awesome incentive to buy and people would have still been very happy getting an extra Second Coming or Three Woes and it doesn't make what is supposed to be the rarer, more scarce version become such a common card.

I see your point, but I disagree. If people want the non-AB Woes, they can buy RoJ packs--it's not like those are no longer available.

RoJ I doubt isn't selling much and I see a problem with there being more TSC and TW (AB) version on the market than normal versions.

So there might be more AB cards on the market right now, but that won't always be the case.  The regular border will always be available, while these special ones are only available right now.  Sure there are very few players that want this card right now, but if we continue to add players to this game then players will eventually want them.  One of my players gave me some extra money and their copy of their 2nd Coming & 3 Woes to get the AB version.  I'm sure there will be other players willing to do the same, just have to wait a little bit.

Define "on the market" because it seems to me like people would likely deck the copy they get. But yeah you get to be mad at "Nationals Exclusive"  3 Woes being de-valued out of the blue.
