Any possibility of some Upstate NY Tournaments?

I am dying to play some competitive Redemption, is there a possibility of any Upstate NY tournaments, or tournaments that are within like a 2 hour drive of Buffalo?

I know my good friend Reyzen has done a great job of keeping an active NY playgroup, but they are about six hours away from where I live, leaving me without a real playgroup.

I have about 4 people that would play, but that is all I really have committed to playing. Three of us have been playing for about 10 years, but all of us have been away from the competitive circuit for about 6 years, read after I started my undergrad.

I have kept up with the game, and done my best to keep all three of us up to date on decks and cards, I have to look into getting more of the Early Church, but I digress. We would all love to play, if there are more Western NY players out there give me a shout.

I'm in the upstate (or so I'm told I am), but I jsut moved here and haven't really introduced anyone to Redemption yet. I am about 3 hours from Buffalo; I'm more central than western NY I think.

I'm actually an hour and a half from Buffalo, but no one has ever heard of Castile, NY. where are you located? Maybe we could work something out, I know there are some more. I could host if it is a problem, I just don't want to hold a tournament for like 5 people you know?

Maybe start by hosting some game nights for Redemption--those tend to get people interested in having tournaments. Even so, 5 people is plenty for a tournament--play round robin and everyone gets 4 games in.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I live in Spencer, NY - but no one knows where that is either. I've been to small tournaments before. I've never hosted before, but I currently work at a school that could be a good place to host.

Yea, you are about two hours away from me, that is not too bad, we probably could work something out.

There used to be a fairly large playgroup in the Gasport area.

That would be awesome, I know there was like one local tournament in the area about a year ago. Gasport is super close, it would be perfect.

Ben, you should be about an hour and a half away from Hamburg then? Al B. lives in Hamburg. How far away are you from the Greesons? Can the church you are pastoring hold tourneys?

The Greesons are probably about 2 and a half hours away from him, I can't remember the name of the town they live in but it's an hour and a half South East of me and OP is about an hour North West of me.

Roy it is great to hear from you. I do not know the Greesons, so I do not know how far I am from them. Hamburg would be great as it is only an hour away. Yes, the church that I serve at has a large gymnasium, and would be very good for a tournament up to the size of about a state tournament. I am more than willing to host a tournament, but I just do not have the number of players to make it a worthwhile event.

If I could get all of these smaller playgroups together, I could possibly get a great turnout.

Sorry for the double post, but I somehow missed the Guardian's post.

I like the idea of hosting a game night, I could see that working as a stepping stone. I definitely could get four players including myself to play, but that is all I currently have.

Roy it is great to hear from you. I do not know the Greesons....
Roy is referencing me and my boys.  We live down on the NY/PA border.  Seems like we talked about it a while back.

Oh ok that's right, I do remember talking to you about it, but I apologize that your last name did not ring a bell. I will use finals week and the thirty plus pages I've written in the last two days as my excuse.

I would love to try to put something together, would you all be interested in an event?

Interested...sure.  Committed...depends.

Keep me informed when you start talking about dates and stuff, and I will do my best to help.  I have plenty of tournament hosting, judging, and participating experience, so I wouldn't mind being a resource.

Hey guys I have been gone for a while but I am back, I'm trying to get my redemption group going again as well. If so then I am a redemption group in the Buffalo area that will probably start hosting tournaments again. I will keep you guys posted.

Glad to see some new players from Northern NY. I was visiting the Rochester area 3 years ago when Randall had his player group at a school up in the city. Sadly I'm back in Southern PA so I won't be attending any tournaments in Buffalo.

I am in Rochester and while I have not played since the last start decks came out I would love to get back into it some time. I am a host but I don't have a group, my wife knows how to but little kids have kept us busy.
