Actually we were hoping that Rob Might have printed up a new Tournament Winner promo with the new priniting set.  We were also specilating as to what it should be.  Here were some of the ideas:

1. NJ (this was my idea, even though I am a proponent of banning or limiting this card.  My thinking is that there should be more of them for younger and new players to gain access to them.)
2. WoP (This was Prof's idea.  I think it is because he hates speed decks plus he hates other people banding to his cards  ;) ) this would be the first fortress reprinted as a tournament winner though
3. Holy of Holies (just to put the nail in the coffin on all those pesky FBTN decks lol)

What might be some other cool ideas for cards to be reprinted as tournament winners?

King of Tyrus.  ;D

Id go with that.  He is one of my favorite EC's.  I love the card art on it.  But since he is limited to just a single brigade you may not be able to play him if you dont play that brigade....

Therefore we should reprint him as a multicolor EC  ;D

Well, in that case I'm pretty sure it will be The Garden Tomb.  Cactus has a secret agenda to make sure everyone plays a Garden Tomb deck.  Giving it away in foil as the tournament promo will be a good way to help that agenda along. :D

This would be the status quo.

Actually we were hoping that Rob Might have printed up a new Tournament Winner promo with the new priniting set.
This was based on the idea that Rob might be running low on CoF promos considering that they were the winner promo for years before HT started switching years with it.  It also occurred to us that if a printed card sheet has 100 cards and the new set only has 60 cards, and if a normal tournament year's worth of promos is 10 cards (4 local, 3 district, 1 state, 1 regional, 1 national), then that leaves still another 30 cards unaccounted for.  And considering the number of cards needed for a new tournament winner promo, it seemed just about right.

We were also speculating as to what it should be...2. WoP (This was Prof's idea.
I thought that it should be a card that almost anyone could use in their deck regardless of brigade (like CoF and HT), and since we already have an artifact and a dominant, it seemed like a fortress was due for a turn.  My other thought was DoN.  Both of these would be highly sought after cards for people winning tournaments, and having more on the market would lower the price so that more players could have such wonderful additions to their decks.

Yeah, but this is Bryon we're talking about here.  He could have meant that the card sheets had 60 cards on them, which they would, whether they have 60 or 100 cards on them.  After the spoiler thread, I can't take anything Bryon says about future sets as meaning anything near what it sounds like :)

I think Bryon (or someone) also said something about no (new? I don't remember) promos being printed.

I hope we get a new promo. One can only have so many harvest times or Chariots of fire.  I have plenty of extra harvest times with all the tournaments I hosted this year.

Hey,

This was based on the idea that Rob might be running low on CoF promos considering that they were the winner promo for years before HT started switching years with it.  It also occurred to us that if a printed card sheet has 100 cards and the new set only has 60 cards, and if a normal tournament year's worth of promos is 10 cards (4 local, 3 district, 1 state, 1 regional, 1 national), then that leaves still another 30 cards unaccounted for.  And considering the number of cards needed for a new tournament winner promo, it seemed just about right.

A conservative estimate says that about 7000 Chariot of Fire promos were printed.  I doubt we're running out of them quite yet.

The "normal" set of promos is 2 Local, 1 District, 1 State, 1 Regional, 1 National, and 4 Miscellaneous.  The miscellaneous is where Tournament Winner Promos, World Vision Promo, Covenant Games Promo, Salvation Army Promo, Angel Wars promo, etc have been printed in the past.  Occasionally extra Local or District promos are printed in those 4 miscellaneous slots, Emperor Augustus and Captured Ark being the earliest examples of this.

With TeP being a 60 card set,  I'm pretty sure it wasn't printed on 100 card sheets.  Perhaps the machine that makes foil cards uses a standard sheet size of 60 cards rather than 100.  If TeP was printed on a 100 card sheet the set would have closer to 100 cards in it.

Tschow,

FWIW, the set was intended to be in the 50-ish range, printed on a 100-card sheet with most but not all cards doubled.  So say we had 53 cards total (which it was for a while).  Six cards would be printed singly, and 47 cards would be doubled (94), for a total sheet of 100.  So there would have been a little bit of rarity among otherwise even distribution.

Eventually the sheet was moved to 60 cards and some of the ideas that were on the sidelines eventually filled the gaps.

I was not able to print a new winner promo.  However, on the new host application that I hope to get revised by the end of July will give the host the option to choose as the winner promo card (s):

- Harvest Time
- Chariot of Fire
- random Thesaurus card.

If you run multiple events you can select all three choices, just make it clear how many of each.  Example, for a District you could choose 1 HT, 1 CoF, and 4 TeP cards.

Of course another option is that I pull any and all dominants out of the TeP card mix going into packs, and hold them exclusively for Tournament Winners.

I think tournament winners for nationals should get a powerful promo. Also I am pretty sure it will be Chariot for this coming year.

What would be the dominants... all I can think of is GoyS, NJ (warriors), and HT (warriors)... and seeing as there is only 0-1 warriors card in those packs, I would think the extras of NJ and HT would be running fairly low.
Gates of Hell is by far the best card in the game.  No questions asked.

That would be awesome, especially because of the new dominant.
