Ohio state tournament June 22-23

Ohio State Tournament

Date
Friday June 22nd - Saturday June 23rd

Location
Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church
83522 Bakers Ridge Road
Cadiz, OH 43907

Located just off of US 22.  Google Maps takes you right there.

Events/Times
Friday 8 PM - Teams
Saturday 9 AM - T1/T2
Saturday early afternoon once T1/T2 are done - Booster/T1 Multi

Costs
$0 entry fee
$0 for T1, T2, T1 Multi, and Teams
$15 for Booster

Booster lineup (hopefully)
Kings
Priests
EC
CoW
RoJ
FoM x2

Booster will be 2-player games, not multiplayer.

Deck check-ins for Teams/T1/T2 will be about 1 hour before the events start.

Players will be able to crash at the church.  It's small, but there will be room in the next-door church offices as well.  There are some places to eat nearby in Cadiz, including Wendy's and McDonald's - although I'm hoping we can provide some pizza and snacks.  I'm pretty sure the church doesn't have showers.

If you plan on attending, please let me know ahead of time so that I can have a good estimate of attendance (and how many packs we need for Booster) in advance.   Texting is the easiest way to get ahold of me at 330-749-7371.  You can also PM me with questions.  Since I am cohosting with Clint Marshall and Clint is the pastor of the church (and I'm about 1.5 hours away), I will need to redirect some questions to him.

Hope lots of players can make it out as we put Ohio back on the Redemption map   8)

Me and my wife will be there. Both playing booster. I don't think we will make it in time for the Friday events because we will both have to work Friday morning before we leave.

My schedule has changed so there is a 70% chance of me being there.

Is that up from a lower percentage or down from a higher percentage?  ;)

Ok we are about 2 weeks out - Josiah, any update on whether you will be able to make it and how many players would come with you if you do?

I want to make sure we have enough packs for boosting.  I think we'll be good but better safe than sorry.

Looking forward to you all coming to Cadiz OH for State Tourney.  Please text me with any questions and of course Josh is the real muscle behind this tourney.  Clint Marshall cell 740-381-7992
There are two new hotels in Cadiz in case you need it. All are welcome to sleep at the church.  Several rooms to use and the church chairs are well cushioned. I have slept on them myself💤!!
So that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

Also, I should mention that the plan is to do 2-player Booster draft.  This will be announced when we are about to start boosting as well, just to make sure everyone is aware.  I wanted to get the early notification out to any board members who plan on attending and playing Booster.

I have every card in the game minus Rapha and Majestic Heavens. I may be missing a few winner promo from nats 16.

I should be able to meet whatever your wants. I'd be willing to work something out when I get there.

Can confirm that Josiah plans to be there in time for Teams   :D   Our plan is to start Teams as soon as his crew arrives, with a small time allotment for deck check-in, unloading vehicle, etc.

Also, as an FYI (not sure if this will sway any more players to make the trip), I can confirm that this will be the Booster order:

Kings
Priests
TEC
CoW
RoJ
FoM
FoM

With all those additional FooF/RoA/TxP/Disciples cards, it should make for some awesome decks and 1 vs 1 games!

Results:

Teams
1. Josiah Beers/Brian Jones
2. Josh Hartzler/Jon Masters
3. Nic Marshall/Luke Marshall

T1
1. Nic Marshall
2. Luke Marshall
3. Jon Masters

T2
1. Charles Johnson
2. Amanda Johnson

Booster
1. Luke Marshall
2. Josh Hartzler
3. Nic Marshall

T1 Multi
(Not enough players to qualify)

Also, in Booster Draft, one of the players pulled Babel, and as many other players have found, there were an extra 5 FoM cards in the UR pack.  There should be a procedure laid out for when booster packs have an incorrect number of cards (be it too many or too few).  We ended up removing the extra 5 FoM cards and letting the player who opened the pack keep them for his collection.

I'll post my Booster deck in Complete Decks, it turned out pretty good.

It's complicated, and we cant go into all the details, but it ends with an egg being balanced on a string between two trees above a dead unicorn....

He must've had Hopper and timed out.

At an MN tournament recently we talked about this and figured the same approach you used would be appropriate.

Hey all, I borrowed a card from someone during this event and do not remember who it was. Card of somewhat value that I’d like to return. Please message me if you remember me!

I think it was one of the beers brothers. I seem to recall them saying they forgot to get a few cards back from people. I'll let them know to message you.
