Nice! You have any of the new cards yet?
-
Only a few, most of which are the ones from Nats. Has clay been seeing much use so far?
-
Clay is legit and it got more legit with the release of Early Church Phase 2.
I've built a couple T2 decks with it so far and it's definitely fun to play.
-
Me and my brother will try to come, I will also try to get some people who have been out of the official event view for a while, since we are on break!
-
I'll be there but I'll have to duck out around 2:55 for work.
-
I think I can make it. Buts it's hard to get up before noon when you have been off work for a couple weeks. I'll try to drag the Hobbit along.
-
I'll try to make it with my 3 girls, but my schedule's changing at work so I can't be sure.
-
Hope it works out for you guys to make it--should be a really fun tournament and is usually one of our larger ones of the year! 8)
-
Will have plenty of TEC cards for sale and trade. I redeemed all the redemption cash everybody turned in and got TEC 2 with it.
-
It looks like my girls and I will be able to come, but I have to work at 2pm so we won't able to stay long. Do you know what events will be first? Is there any way that we could start a bit earlier to make sure we'll be able to finish that first event? If not, don't worry about it. I just didn't want to "have not because I ask not" :)
-
Traditionally we have done T1 2P, T2 2P and Sealed (if anyone wants to do Sealed) first. T2 2P and Sealed would only be 2-3 rounds each but T1 2P normally goes until 3 unless it's a really small group.
-
In other words, you should play Type 2 because it's more fun and you should have enough time.

My girls certainly aren't ready for T2, and we can't stay until 3. So I guess we might have to sit this one out. I'm sure it'll be a great tournament though and will miss seeing you guys. I'm looking forward to having a schedule in the future that is more conducive to making it to tournaments :)

Prof Underwood, we could fit in Type A for your girls by 1:00 pm. And you could play sealed deck and be finished by 1:00 or play 3 rounds of type 1 and then leave. We often have someone play that can't stay the whole day. I'll plan on getting there by 9:00am so that we could get type A started right at 10:00.
-
I will probably be there, I have not been to one in a long time ;D

Hopefully nobody was planning to abuse this, but we have made an official ruling change/clarification with regards to Toss. Please see the announcement in the link above. :)

Crumbs, guess I'll have to build a different deck.

Actually God worked things out for us. My schedule changed for tomorrow, and so we'll all be able to stay later. Thanks for being willing to work with us on the Type A (which the girls will probably still play). We'll look forward to all being together tomorrow :)

Had a fun tournament. Alecia Underwood won Type A and I told her I would post the winners so here goes.
Type A---- Alecia Underwood
Type 1-2 player----- David Carlson
Closed Deck-----Caleb Love
Booster Draft----Kyle Peterson
Type 1-Multi----Mark Underwood
Type 1-Teams----Martin Miller & Nathan Voigt
Type 2-2 player----Justin Alstad
Type 2-Multi player-----Jayden Alstad (and committee)
(ProfUnderwood complained that he beat 3 former national champs and still only took 2nd in type 1-2 player. I cried with him for a little bit and then told him "Welcome to Minnesota")

I admit that it this was the toughest competition that I've ever faced at a District level tournament. Playing against John Early, Nathan Voight, and Martin Miller back-to-back-to-back was EXTREMELY intense, and a lot of fun. I was very blessed to win all three of those games as each of them could have easily won those super close games. Then to get to the end and only come in 2nd overall due to an early round loss to David Carlson felt a bit rough. However it is a great testament to the level of play of the whole playgroup here in MN.
Speaking of great things about MN, I'm impressed that there were 9 different champs of events yesterday and ALL of them were different. It was also especially great to have John Early make the trip up to join us. And everyone seemed to have a good time fellowshiping with each other. Good sportsmanship was shown by all. It's great to be up here, and I look forward to future tournaments :)
