You would need some expensive shop equipment to make a good quality wooden one. And I don't think you could make a good quality carboard one with anything. :P However, if you are not looking for quality, then this is a fabulous idea.

I think Wild Bill has some designs of wooden deck boxes in the works. And he's a shop teacher, so I'm guessing he has the equipment to make them good quality.

I talked to my graphics teacher today, and beings I'm one of the few people in the class getting an A and that has everything done, I could print my own custom sleeves if I wanted. He has all the right equipment to perfect the image so the sleeve isn't "marked", high quality ink, etc.

Not sure if I want to do it, though. It'd take a few days after school and I'm not sure if I want to commit that.

I'm in the process of making a prototype. Top quality; hidden hinges, magnetic catch so nothing is exposed, maybe a laser cut top with the Redemption Sword logo on it. (would need permission from Cactus). Type one and Type 2. Hope to have some done by Nationals. Could be prizes for Tournament Winners. Maybe Cactus would sell them on their Web site. I also have plans for a wooden briefcase/card box. Too bad I have to work for a living, otherwise I could start production.

Of course I will need some deck box testers to make sure they hold up to a rigorous tournament season and to make suggestions for improvements.

Except it would cost me srs tiemz, and make my personal sleeves less special :c. I won't have access to any equipment after this school year, and I have many other projects in the second half of the semester due. If I do decide to print them, I'll probably only have time to print ~60 and those would be mine >:c.

Anyway, I'm sure he'd end up charging me for extra supplies if I went printing crazy.... Thats no fun.

ahh, that's true. although yours would be no less personal. I suspect Games People Play might be able to print card sleeves. and if he did charge, we'd have to play for the materials. but you can't make personalized sleeves. unless you don't plan on using them, since if you did, we couldn't have Black vs. White battles.

Have your students mass produce as a project for shop class. :)

I feel that someone who has the diverse experience of living in 3 states presently would be best suited to test such boxes to make sure they can hold up for tournaments in 3 different regions.  ;)
